If there’s one thing I’ll never apologize for as a social media manager, it’s caring too much.

Because contrary to what some people think, social media management isn’t just about pretty graphics, trendy audios, or scheduling posts.

It’s about people.

It’s about showing up.

It’s about treating someone’s business like it matters.

When Lauren first became a client, my goal wasn’t just to manage her social media. My goal was to make her life easier. To take something off her plate. To help her feel supported when the never-ending to-do list of running a her own business& being a kick-ass mom felt overwhelming.

And somewhere along the way, something even better happened.

We became friends.

Reading this review honestly made me a little emotional because the words that stood out to me weren’t “hard worker” or “highly recommend.”

It was:

“Ang became a friend that I appreciate so much.”

Because that’s always been the heart of how I do business.

I don’t want to be the social media manager who disappears after sending an invoice.

I don’t want to be the person who treats clients like numbers on a spreadsheet.

I want to know what you’re excited about.

I want to celebrate your wins.

I want to help you through the stressful moments.

I want to be someone you trust.

And yes, maybe that’s a little controversial in a world that constantly tells business owners to keep everything strictly transactional.

But I don’t believe the best businesses are built on transactions.

I think they’re built on relationships.

The reality is that when you work closely with someone month after month, supporting their dreams, their goals, and their business, it’s pretty hard not to become invested in them as a person.

And honestly?

That’s my favourite part of this job.

The content, the strategy, the analytics, and the engagement are important.

But the relationships?

Those are everything.

Clients come and go.

But the people who become friends?

Those are the ones I’ll always be grateful for.

A little business update from me ☁️

If you’ve been here for a while, you might remember me mentioning that a price adjustment would be coming in April 2026… and somehow, here we are already.

Starting April 1st, my social media management and engagement package rates will be increasing slightly.

Before anyone panics — this will NOT impact any current clients who are already under contract with me. Your rates are staying exactly as they are.

This change applies to new clients only moving forward.

I never take price increases lightly. Ever. But as my business continues to grow (and as I pour more time, strategy, and intention into the work I do for each of my clients), it’s important that my pricing reflects the level of support, expertise, and results I’m committed to delivering.

Behind the scenes, I’ve been refining my processes, expanding my offerings, and elevating the overall client experience — because you deserve more than just “posting on social media.”

You deserve strategy, consistency, creativity, and someone who genuinely cares about your business showing up and standing out.

If you’ve been thinking about working together, this is your little nudge 👀

You still have a short window to lock in current pricing before the new rates take effect.

As always, I’m so grateful to every single one of you who trusts me with your brand, your content, and your vision. It truly doesn’t go unnoticed.

If you have any questions about packages, availability, or what working together looks like, my messages are always open.

Can we please stop acting like using ChatGPT means someone is lazy?

Somewhere along the way, people started treating AI like it’s a magic button that spits out perfect content while the person behind the screen does absolutely nothing.

As someone who uses ChatGPT almost every single day in my business, let me tell you what it actually looks like.

It looks like me having an idea but not knowing how to organize it into something people will actually want to read.

It looks like me rewriting the same sentence six times because it still doesn’t sound like me.

It looks like me taking a rough thought, throwing it into ChatGPT, reading what comes back, saying, “… that’s not it,” and trying again.

And again.

What people don’t see is that the quality of what comes out depends entirely on what goes in.

ChatGPT doesn’t know my clients.

It doesn’t know their audiences.

It doesn’t know my sense of humour or the way I naturally talk to people.

That’s still me.

The best content I’ve ever created didn’t happen because ChatGPT “did the work.”

It happened because I knew what I wanted to say—I just needed help untangling the mess of thoughts in my head.

We don’t call photographers lazy for editing photos.

We don’t call accountants lazy for using software.

We don’t call graphic designers lazy for using Canva or Adobe.

So why is it suddenly “cheating” when someone uses a tool to help organize their thoughts?

Here’s the thing…

If you ask ChatGPT to write you a caption with zero input, it’ll probably sound exactly like everyone else’s.

But when you feed it your personality, your opinions, your little rants, and the things only you could say… that’s when it becomes powerful.

At the end of the day, AI isn’t your personality - it’s just a tool.

And tools are only as good as the person using them.

So no, I don’t think using ChatGPT makes someone lazy.

I think refusing to use helpful tools because you’re worried about what strangers on the internet might think is a much bigger thing to unpack …

Can we normalize disagreeing with each other without turning it into a full-blown internet debate?

I’ll go first.

There are SO many business “rules” floating around online that people treat like they’re absolute fact.

“You have to post every single day.”

“You have to show your face.”

“You have to dance.”

“You have to niche down.”

“You have to wake up at 5 a.m.”

“You have to post three Reels a day.”

According to who?!

I’ve worked with enough businesses over the last few years to know there isn’t one magical formula.

Some businesses barely post and still crush it because they’ve built an incredible community.

Others post multiple times a day and hear nothing but crickets.

Some people hate being on camera and still build amazing brands.

Some people thrive by showing up every day.

The point is…

Business isn’t one-size-fits-all.

Neither is social media.

So now I want to know…

What’s your unpopular business opinion?

Not your mean opinion.

Not your controversial-for-the-sake-of-being-controversial opinion.

Just something you genuinely believe that goes against the grain.

I’ll start:

You do NOT have to post every single day to grow on social media. Consistency matters far more than frequency.

Okay… your turn 👀👇🏼

Let’s hear the opinions everyone else is too scared to post.

This is your reminder that posting content isn’t the same thing as creating value.

Just because you spent three hours making a Reel doesn’t mean people owe you engagement.

Just because you’re passionate about your business doesn’t mean strangers automatically care.

Harsh?

Maybe.

But incredibly freeing.

Because once you stop expecting attention, you start earning it.

You start asking:

How can I help?

How can I educate?

How can I entertain?

How can I make someone’s day better?

The businesses winning online aren’t demanding attention.

They’re deserving attention.

And that’s a very different mindset.

The internet is crowded.

People are overwhelmed.

Your job isn’t to shout louder.

Your job is to become impossible to ignore.

That’s where the magic happens.

I’m gonna say something that might sting a little…

A lot of content creators and business owners are so obsessed with “performing well” that they’ve completely sucked the humanity out of their content.

Everything sounds like:
🤦🏻‍♀️“Here are 3 tips…”
🤦🏻‍♀️ “Stop scrolling…”
🤦🏻‍♀️ “POV:”
🤦🏻‍♀️ “Comment LINK for more.”

And listen — strategy matters. I literally do this for a living.

But people connect with PEOPLE.

Not content calendars that sound like they were written by a motivational robot who drinks iced coffee and calls everyone “bestie.”

The accounts growing right now?
The ones making people stay?
The ones building trust?

They feel human.

Messy thoughts.
Real opinions.
Tiny stories.
Personality.
Humour.
Frustration.
Honesty.

People don’t just want information anymore. They want connection.

So no… your content probably doesn’t need another trending audio.

It probably needs more YOU.

And honestly?
That’s way harder than following trends.

Unpopular opinion 👀

Your business probably doesn’t need more followers.

I know. I know. The social media manager just said it.

But hear me out.

Every single day I see business owners obsessing over their follower count.

“We only have 800 followers.”
“We haven’t hit 5,000 yet.”
“How do I go viral?”

Meanwhile…

They have DMs they haven’t answered.
Website links that don’t work.
No clear call-to-action.
No way for people to actually buy from them.

You don’t need 10,000 followers if the 500 people currently following you don’t know what you do.

You don’t need a viral Reel if nobody knows how to work with you afterward.

And you definitely don’t need another trending audio if your profile still looks like it was abandoned in 2023.

The truth?

I’d rather help a client make money from 500 engaged followers than collect 50,000 random followers who never purchase a thing.

Followers are not customers.

Views are not customers.

Likes are not customers.

Revenue is revenue.

Connection is connection.

Trust is trust.

So before you start chasing bigger numbers, ask yourself:

“Have I actually built a community with the audience I already have?”

Because sometimes the growth you’re looking for isn’t in attracting more people.

It’s in serving the people who are already paying attention.

Now that’s the kind of algorithm hack nobody wants to talk about.

Let’s start with the big one.

Sometimes I post content without obsessing over it for three business days.

I know. Horrifying.

I don’t always spend an hour deciding whether a Reel should have trending audio, original audio, or some obscure sound with 47 uses that a guru swears is about to explode.

Sometimes I don’t check Instagram at exactly the “optimal posting time.”

Sometimes I don’t have a perfectly colour-coordinated feed.

And sometimes…

I post something simply because I think it’s interesting.

The amount of overthinking in this industry is actually wild.

I’ve seen social media managers spend more time debating a hook than it takes some people to create an entire piece of content.

I’ve watched business owners sit on genuinely valuable content for weeks because they were waiting for the perfect photo, perfect trend, perfect caption, perfect timing, perfect moon cycle, perfect alignment of the planets…

Meanwhile, someone else threw together a slightly chaotic video in ten minutes and got 500,000 views.

Here’s the uncomfortable truth:

Most people are not studying your content as closely as you think they are.

Nobody is zooming in on Slide 4 wondering why the font size changed by 2 points.

Nobody is refusing to buy from you because your cover photo wasn’t perfectly centred.

Nobody is lying awake at night because you used the same B-roll twice this month.

The only person obsessing over those things is usually you.

Perfectionism has become socially acceptable procrastination in the content world.

And honestly?

I’d rather publish imperfect content consistently than spend six hours creating a masterpiece that never leaves my drafts folder.

Because content sitting in drafts gets exactly zero engagement.

POV: You think being a social media manager is just posting cute graphics all day.

I wish 😂

I think people imagine my day looks like:
✨ sipping iced coffee
✨ casually posting on Instagram
✨ answering a few DMs
✨ calling it a day

Meanwhile my actual day usually looks something like this:

6:42 AM — wake up to a child asking for a snack they absolutely do not need yet.

7:15 AM — mentally planning client content while making breakfast and trying to remember if I switched the laundry over.

8:03 AM — answer one “quick client message” that turns into a 17-minute voice note breakdown about branding, engagement, and why beige graphics are suddenly dying.

9:30 AM — open Canva.

9:31 AM — close Canva because I forgot I needed to answer emails first.

10:12 AM — finally start creating content.

10:14 AM — get distracted researching trending audio which somehow turns into me deep diving a stranger’s divorce drama on TikTok.

11:00 AM — back to work.

Somewhere in between all of this:
• editing reels
• writing captions
• scheduling posts
• strategy planning
• answering client messages
• reminding clients to PLEASE send me their photos
• checking analytics

And honestly? Half of social media management is psychology.

You’re constantly thinking:
“What makes people stop scrolling?”
“What makes someone trust a business?”
“What makes someone actually CARE?”

People see the finished Instagram post.

They don’t see the 47 tabs open.
The caption rewrites.
The trend research.
The panic.
The creativity block.
The strategy behind every single thing.

And they definitely don’t see me sitting in my car recording voice notes to myself because my best ideas always come at the most inconvenient times possible.

This job is chaotic.
Creative.
Overstimulating.
Fun.
Exhausting.
And honestly? I weirdly love it.

There’s something so rewarding about helping someone’s business grow from content that started as a random idea in my Notes app.

So if you’ve ever supported my business, engaged with my content, trusted me with your brand, or even just liked a post — thank you.

The most unhinged part of being a social media manager is realizing that sometimes… absolutely none of it makes sense.

Like genuinely.

You can spend THREE HOURS editing a Reel.

Perfect lighting.
Strong hook.
Trending audio.
Strategic caption.
SEO.
Keywords.
Thumbnail.
Call-to-action.
Engagement strategy.
Posted at the “optimal time.”

You sit there thinking:
“Oh ya. This is the one. This is cinema.”

And Instagram responds with:

Meanwhile…

The blurry photo you accidentally posted while half awake with the caption “lol” somehow becomes your best-performing piece of content for the month.

EXCUSE ME?

Social media is honestly one of the only jobs where your carefully calculated masterpiece can flop while your most chaotic, low-effort content takes off into another dimension.

And honestly? I think that’s because people are exhausted by perfection now.

People want personality.
They want real moments.
They want content that feels human instead of overly polished and manufactured.

Which is simultaneously comforting and deeply annoying for those of us who spent 4 business days editing transitions.

Being a social media manager is basically:
• creative director
• strategist
• therapist
• trend researcher
• graphic designer
• video editor
• caption writer
• analyst
• professional overthinker

…all while the algorithm sits in the corner behaving like a raccoon with a WiFi connection.

Some days you feel like a marketing genius.

Other days your entire strategy gets humbled by a poorly lit photo and a random thought typed in 8 seconds.

And somehow?
That’s part of the fun.

POV: you manage social media for multiple industries and your brain is just one giant loading screen at this point 👀

One minute I’m writing about mortgage rates and interest approvals, the next I’m deep in hormone health research, then suddenly I’m creating content about fertility, editing a Mother’s Day campaign, answering client messages, finding trending audio, resizing graphics for seven different platforms, and trying to remember which brand voice I’m supposed to be typing in right now.

Like am I:
✨ professional and educational
✨ warm and nurturing
✨ trendy and funny
✨ corporate but approachable
✨ emotionally supportive
✨ trying to convince people they NEED to stop overwatering their plants

Honestly, being a social media manager is kind of unhinged in the best way.

People see the finished Instagram post and think it’s just:
“take a cute photo and upload it”

Meanwhile behind the scenes we’re:
✨researching
✨scripting
✨copywriting
✨editing
✨trend forecasting
✨managing engagement
✨ analyzing performance
✨fixing weird formatting issues
✨having 14 tabs open
✨fighting Canva
✨questioning our entire existence because Instagram cropped something weird AGAIN

And somehow… we genuinely love it.

There’s also something so funny about how quickly your brain has to switch contexts all day long. I can go from writing a serious educational caption to making a meme about burnout within 4 minutes flat.

No thoughts. Just content.

If you’re also in social media, marketing, content creation, or honestly any online creative space… please tell me I’m not the only one whose brain feels like a browser with 37 tabs open at all times.
