Note: Due to an LADWP error, we misstated the number of customers who will receive assistance. It is 218, not 219. —City and county agencies as well as Lineage have given away thousands of air purifiers to residents throughout the month at various resource sites or through door-to-door distribution.Officials have touted the resource in their response efforts and have also promised utility bill assistance to offset the costs of running the purifiers for long hours. The result? In Boyle Heights, Lineage has donated $50,000 that will automatically go towards covering the bill for 218 LA Department of Water and Power customers living closest to the fire.—Las agencias de la ciudad, el condado y Lineage han distribuido miles de purificadores de aire a residentes.

Temperatures are rising, and residents living near Lineage are grappling with how best to stay cool indoors as rotting odors permeate their neighborhoods during the cleanup of the fire site.Opening windows is off the table to keep the stench from coming in, so residents without air conditioning are relying on fans. People with AC units are running them at all hours, but many with window air conditioners say putrid odors enter through vents and gaps of the units. Here’s what we found about filling window AC voids, requesting an AC unit from Lineage and using deodorizers to help combat odors.✍️: @alemolina 🔗 Click the link in bio to read more. by @boyleheightsbt
