Hello from Tirana! It took 2 buses and 6 hours later but I made it to my hotel without any drama. Tirana has some really cool buildings! I had to check out the protests while I’m in Tirana - The Flamingo revolution! taken in Tirana, Albania by @boylewalkabout

Getting around in Albania is always sketchy. The bus stop to go to Saranda- go to a grocery store outside of town by the circle. They showed up on time but than we had to get off 5 minutes later and boarded a different mini bus. I did an excursion while in Saranda. It was okay but ran 2 hours later and I missed the last bus back home so I spent an additional night there. A fight broke out at the Blue Eye. Someone tried cutting in line. We did the castle overlooking Saranda and a brush fire 🔥 was near the city center. See the video of the helicopter dropping water. After the castle we drove under the chopper doing water runs. Fortunately they put it out and no buildings were lost. The bumper car video is similar to how they drive here. One way streets are just suggestions. A fun week at the Himare International Music Festival. Indoor concerts were $6.00 and outdoor was on the beach and free. The outdoor was playing classics from the eagles, REM, Pink Floyd, the Who…in the video you see all the beach umbrellas. People leave them there overnight. At midnight they set off fireworks. It’s to celebrate someone’s birthday and also the businesses have to turn down the music or get fined. Another crazy thing here in Himare is one way streets are just suggestions so always look both ways. by @boylewalkabout

Took a bus North to the city of Vlore. A beautiful sunset but the beach was bad. All the hotels took up the beach and the water was murky. The hotel arranged for a driver the next day to give me a ride and to stand on the corner at 9am by the grocery store. I had no idea what I was looking for. An old guy in a beater car shows up yelling Himarë. I hop in and settle on payment via google translate and away we go. He was so fun. Sang along the way yelling out at people and a cemetery. We stopped on the mountain top to have an expresso and take in the view. #noreservations taken in Vlorë, Albania by @boylewalkabout

I found a beautiful beach 40 minutes from town - Filikuri Beach. The only catch is the steep climb down the cliff to get to it. It was worth the challenge. #albania #beachlife🌴 by @boylewalkabout

Hello from The Albanian Riviera (Himare) it’s a stunning coastal region along the Ionian Sea in southern Albania. It’s not far from Greece so majority of the people speak Greek. One of the great things about Albania as an American is I can live here for 1 year no visa required. It’s not part of the EU. Needless to say I’ll be back;-) the guy I’m doing a raki shot with is my landlord. #seasonalliving #lovealbania🇦🇱 by @boylewalkabout

215 YO! My last day in the Dolomites and it didn’t disappoint. Caught a bus from Cortina to the trailhead to Lago Si Sorapis. Trail #215 which is my hometown Philly area code. We did it! The 7 day Alta Via 1 of the Dolomites. What an amazing experience and got to experience with this great group of people. We hiked 55 miles / ascend/ descent 18k each way and laughed and ate our way through it all. 2 teachers from Japan age 67 and 68 crushed it! Our guide Federico Mattei was the best! Awesome day taking the coffin cable car to the top of the mountain and hiking down the back of the mountain. A cool refugio hanging off the side of the mountain serving up a tasty apple strudel. #solohikingadventure taken in Val Gardena - Dolomiti by @boylewalkabout
