I’m honored (and honestly still processing) to have been selected as one of @providencebusinessnews’ #40under40 honorees.

For anyone who knows me, you know recognition has never really been the goal. I'm usually on the go, thinking about the next meeting, the next project, the next event, the next problem to solve… and occasionally remembering to sleep.

But moments like this make you pause.

As a #Colombian #immigrant and proud product of #CentralFalls, I don’t take opportunities like this lightly.

I think about younger me, and honestly, I don’t think she would’ve imagined all the places this journey would lead.

This recognition reflects so many communities and chapters of my life - family, friends, mentors, colleagues, clients, residents, students, teammates, partners, and everyone who has trusted me, supported me, challenged me, collaborated with me, or opened a door.

And of course… Cris and Gian, who remind me that no title or recognition will ever be more important than coming home.

Feeling really grateful for this moment.

Still learning. Still building.

And apparently turning 35 wasn’t so bad after all 😅❤️‍🔥 not even a month in and it's looking pretty good so far.

With Mother’s Day tomorrow, I’ve been thinking a lot about how much becoming a mom has changed me.

In the best ways.

It’s made me more patient, more intentional, and a lot more aware of how quickly time moves.

It’s also made me think differently about legacy - what I’m building, what I prioritize, and what Gian will remember when he looks back at his childhood.

I hope he remembers love. I hope he remembers laughter. And I hope he sees a mother who worked hard, loved deeply, and tried her best.

And truthfully, I know I’m able to show up the way I do because I have an incredibly supportive husband, family, and village behind me. I know that support isn’t guaranteed, and I never take that for granted.

Tomorrow and every day, I’m thinking of the women who show up for their families in big and small ways... often without applause.

And to my little boy, thank you for making life sweeter and giving me the title I cherish most: mom. ❤️

Had a great time last night at the Gala De La Hispanidad hosted by the @ri.hispanicchamber. Always inspiring to be surrounded by entrepreneurs and community leaders making moves and building legacy.

I didn’t take nearly enough pictures 📸 but loved seeing how elegant, joyful, and proud everyone looked. A true celebration of our culture.

As #HispanicHeritageMonth kicks off tomorrow, let’s celebrate the richness of our culture and the strength of our people. Small businesses are the backbone of Rhode Island’s economy, and of Central Falls. Let’s keep showing up, building up, and supporting one another. 💪🏽✨

📣 Grant writing isn’t just about paperwork. It’s about unlocking resources that can transform communities.

On May 5 and May 28, I had the pleasure of facilitating Write to Win: Grant Writing Workshops in partnership with @segreenhouse. First in English at the Woonsocket Education Center, and then in Spanish at the @rhodeislandcollege Workforce Development Hub in #CentralFalls.

These sessions reminded me why I love this work. At Better Perspective Consulting, we don’t just write grants. We help nonprofits, entrepreneurs, and community leaders build capacity, fund impact, and tell their stories powerfully.

If you need support with grant writing, grant management, or crafting compelling proposals, I’d love to connect!

📩 Reach out today to learn how we can work together.

Schools didn’t teach us about building wealth, protecting assets, or setting up financial security for our families—but that doesn’t mean we can’t learn now.

I’m officially helping individuals & families take control of their finances through personalized financial planning, life insurance, and retirement strategies. Whether you want to save for your future or make a career out of educating others, I’d love to chat!

📩 Let’s build a stronger financial future—together!

✨ Client Success Spotlight! ✨

Last fall, I had the privilege of helping the Colombian American Cultural Society apply for the Pawtucket ARPA grant. We carefully crafted a compelling proposal, and I’m thrilled to share that they were awarded 50% of the amount requested to support their incredible cultural initiatives!

This achievement highlights how thoughtful strategy, storytelling, and grant writing expertise can make a real impact for organizations. This is also a full-circle moment for me because I previously served on their board and have seen firsthand the value they bring to our community. Part of what sets me apart as a consultant is my deep commitment to the communities I serve—this isn’t just business, it’s personal.

If your business or nonprofit is ready to secure funding and take the next step toward achieving your goals, let’s connect—I’d love to help!

Last week, I had the opportunity to attend the Rhode Island Foundation’s Community Info Session, where they unveiled their new structure for grant opportunities. Here’s what stood out:

🔹 Thriving Rhode Island Grant Programs are designed to support equity-focused initiatives in three key areas:

🌟 Community Priority Grants: Funding for projects that align with the Foundation’s focus on equity and addressing root causes of community challenges.

🌟 Capacity Building Grants: Resources to strengthen organizations and their infrastructure to increase impact.

🌟 Catalyst Grants: Supporting innovative ideas and creative solutions that drive transformative change.

🔹 Their Five-Year Action Plan lays out bold goals to address systemic inequities in Rhode Island, focusing on health, education, and economic well-being.

🔹 A streamlined application process ensures organizations can focus on their mission while accessing the funding they need.

This info session was packed with valuable insights, and if your organization is considering applying for these grants, I’d love to help you craft a strong and compelling application. Together, we can align your vision with these opportunities to maximize your impact in our community.

📩 Ready to explore how these grants can support your work? Let’s connect!

As a consultant and advocate for transformative change, I've had the unique opportunity to work with educational institutions across Rhode Island, helping them unlock the full potential of their resources. My work in education finance, including years of experience with the Uniform Chart of Accounts (UCOA), has provided schools with the clarity they need to optimize budgets, align resources with strategic goals, and ultimately create lasting impact.

Through my experience with the Rhode Island Department of Education and my work with districts, I have helped educational organizations:

☑️ Develop strategic plans that maximize impact while keeping fiscal accountability at the forefront 📈

☑️ Navigate and implement the UCOA, ensuring full transparency and compliance across financial reporting 💼

☑️ Access grant funding for student enrichment, afterschool programs, and other critical initiatives 💵

☑️ Build partnerships with local organizations to expand learning opportunities 🤝

The UCOA work, in particular, sets a solid foundation for schools to better understand where their funds are going, how they can improve efficiencies, and where they might reallocate resources for greater student success.

If your school or educational organization is ready to enhance financial transparency, maximize resources, or secure new funding, let’s connect! I’m here to help you build a stronger foundation for student and staff success.
