Started 12 years ago, BPM society has seen some legendary DJs, such as Ben UFO and
Licia at the start of their careers. Their open decks give fresh faces a chance to showcase their mixing and selection and for Better Days, they’re bringing some fresh talent- Leeds Uni’s finest. Bringing you some funky and discoey house to round off a killer weekend, we’re sure these guys will get the room bouncing 🙌

You can catch their Better Days sets on Sunday the 3rd of May in the Disco Wonderland 🤩

BPM Society Elections 2026-2027 🔊

Want to be part of the BPM committee, facilitate other DJs, make your mark on Leeds’ scene, or build your CV? Being part of the BPM committee gives you valuable experience and connections in music & events, and is also a lot of fun….

We’ve got 11 positions to fill and nominations start today. Anyone who’s part of the society can nominate themselves, via LUU (link in Bio)

Nominations end 10th of May at 12:00 and voting starts then!

Voting ends 22nd May. All society member can vote and we’ll put some reminders out.

The positions are:

President
- Oversees the running of the society

Vice President
- Helps the President run the society

Treasurer
- Responsible for finances

Secretary
- Makes sure our admin is in order

Social Media Sec
- Runs the BPM Instagram & other social media

Opportunities Officer
- Manages opportunities that come in.

Radio Manager
- Runs the BPM radio show

Welfare & Inclusion Sec
- Ensures society welfare and inclusion

3x Events Managers
- Run BPM events by @bpmsociety

Committee members Oscar (MITHA) and Olie (Pharmacy) have booked artists like Radioactive man, KT and Jive Talk while throwing club nights, parties, and festivals in Leeds and beyond. 🕺

Hello guys!

Super exciting announcement. We’re having a secret social 🤝

On March 13th, we’ll be leaving Leeds in a coach to see a legend of our time at a club night. The music will be electronic housey electro minimal… this one’s for the houghton fans…. and that’s all you get to know.

The coach will set off at 8:30pm from the Parkinson’s steps, and we’ll hopefully be arriving back in Leeds around 6am the next morning. It’s gonna be a big one.
We’ll be having a quick pre’s in a bar when the coach arrives at the secret destination, and then going to the club.

The tickets are £30 which includes the club entry and the coach.

I know that’s quite expensive but we’re not making any money from it- the club tickets were spenny.

Morning BPM’rs,

Announcing a new open decks, every other Monday 🔊🔊

Formally W-QTIPOC this is an Open Decks is for Women, POC and members of the LQBTQ+ community. A safe space to learn how to DJ, hone your skills and develop your sound!

The first one is next Monday and will be a Beginners Mixing Workshop, come along regardless of your experience level, it’ll be a fun time where you can learn the foundations of mixing and your way around the decks!

Hope to see lots of you there :)

Welcome to Semester 2 and a belated Happy New Year!

Open Decks are back but it is now moved to a TUESDAY, everything else remains the same, @upstairs_thepackhorse 7-11pm

First Open Decks is this Tuesday 27th Jan 🔊
Everyone is welcome!

If you’re new to mixing, feel free to come down and chat to one of our
committee members. We would love to help you get started

All slots are 30minutes long and running order is decided by a spinny wheel, so get down early to guarantee yourself a spot! (8 slots available each week)

We are going to be running a Production workshop soon and have another exciting announcement coming tomorrow 👀
