Coming to The Hill 🐾💜 last Fall, was truly a humbling experience for me, but one I wouldn’t change for the books ✨. Even now, I laugh because attending an HBCU (especially out-of-state) was NEVER on the bingo card. Lol but here I am, navigating outside of the SUNY / CUNY system 🍎 and into the Big South. Today, December 14th I’ll officially be graduating from the Illustrious PVAMU.

This undergrad journey has been nothing short of peculiar (ifykyk), in fact it was more of a life journey than anything else. If you know me fr, you know I can write a whole dissertation on my life these past few years 🤣. And they’ll probably be more posts for that! But for now, I’m reminded even in the detours of life.. there’s still purpose. & In the short time I’ve been on the PV campus I’ve met some really amazing people — especially seeing so many young people on fire 🔥 for God (@pvchialpha). And being engulfed in some of the most brilliant & creative spaces, with those in my major (@pvamu_nabj | @kpvutv | @pvuknoradio).

Anywho, after many breaks, life changes, shifts, & transitions; including the loss of 30+ credit hours 😅, transfer denials, & feeling as if I nearly started this journey from scratch. I’m grateful to say Cheers 🥂 to the Completion of #ONE of Many Races 🏃🏽‍♀️🏁.

This graduation season, I’ll be posting alot! Not for the sake of vanity, but to let the devil know he lost again 🙂‍↔️! It’s a lil’ personal

I give God GLORY for the Endurance, Strength, & Victory to finish strong!

Introducing our PVAMU NABJ President for the Fall ‘24 semester… Denise Brown✨

@br.denise is a soon to be graduate and Senior Communication student here at Prairie View A&M University. She is a transfer student & New York City native. While studying in New York, she served as the NABJ Writing Intern and Journalism Speech Coach at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh.

In addition to this, Brown possesses a particular passion for Creative Writing, Professional Development, Teaching, and Public Relations. Her goals are to reach underclassmen and ignite their passion as well in the field of Media/Communications. Post-grad, she desires to work in educational settings to help others find their specific niche within their areas of interest. And most importantly President Brown wants to help other students lean into their own creativity & individuality!

Outside of NABJ, Brown is also a member of Prairie View Chi Alpha on campus. And enjoys culinary activities during her leisure time, while also building purposeful connections.

Idk why I found myself in a place without words to describe this year.

But I always promised God, I never want my mouth to be void of His Word nor His promises.

So I’ll just share this.

The beginning of this year, The Holy Spirit led me to the story of Gideon [in Judges 6] and it speaks on how he was “hiding inside the winepress”. He only struggled to get out of this place because he could not fathom that a warrior actually lived inside of him. Gideon only saw himself low & cowardly - nothing more. He was afraid & hiding from the same people he was already empowered [by God] to defeat. And if Gideon had solely relied on the voice of those around him to lead him into his destiny - Gideon would’ve in fact, died inside that winepress. Died in that condition. Died in his place of “hiding”. He would’ve forfeited his destiny by staying in a place where he never even belonged.

So In retrospect, God showed me this year
to change the way I view myself.

And through this I came to understand what FAITH really means. And what FAITH really looks like. How to fully rely on what God’s spoken even when nothing around you reflects what He said.

FAITH comes by hearing & hearing by the Word of God. [romans 10:17] 🕊

FAITH is the substance of things hoped for & the evidence of things NOT SEEN. [hebrews 11:1] 🕊

&

of course, without FAITH, we know … it’s impossible to please God. [hebrews 11:16] 🕊

See, Some people gain amusement from your “hiding”. And gain entertainment from your delay. So, this year i refuse to make the enemy smile. And I’m doing so by FAITH.

Faith is Our New Currency 💲💵🌎

Good intentions are no longer enough. But do we really believe ? 🔥

And this season the belief is requiring #RadicalFaith.

& I Choose God’s Will to BE My Portion.

it’s a blessing to be connected to a Good Father. 🕊

I challenge you to go into this new year without needing the detailed answers to everything first. I challenge us to fervently make radical faith moves. I challenge us all to continually seek & live out our purpose(s). Because some of us have MANY.

I am No Longer Satisfied with Living In Potential, but it’s time to #BringItToFruition🔥 .

If anything the past two years should’ve taught us - is to no longer live in FEAR. Because El Olam (אֵ֥ל עוֹלָֽם) | Emmanuel (עִמָּנוּאֵל) “the Everlasting God is always with me [us]”.

my constant reminder : never forget who you are, who He is, & most importantly who He’ll forever be.

another reminder : You really weren’t born to be apart of this World. But You were born to SAVE it †.

Most of our issues & even confusion ultimately come from the lack of revelation of WHO WE REALLY ARE. #ComeUpHigher & #FindYourself.

Be Someone Who The Younger Version of Yourself Would Be Proud Of.

You Are Not Common. You Are Royalty.
