OUR FRIENDS

they made us feel so special and even more loved. on saturday, they embraced my vision. they set out 100 white folding chairs in the spot i intended to have the ceremony. it rained. that spot became too muddy & flooded. they facetimed me with every possible ceremony spot. then, they moved all 100 chairs from the front most part of the property to the back most part of the property (the beach) they set them all out. moved the sound equipment. they practiced with derek. they set out my decor exactly as i had hoped it would be. they found ply wood and set it over a puddle in the “aisle”. it rained again, harder. they moved all 100 chairs & all the decor from the beach to under the tent. it rained… again… BAD. they were scrambling to get things out from under the tent and into the house. a tree fell right behind one of our friends. you could no longer even see the beach from the tent. the sky was DARK and the rain was HEAVY. at this point we had only one option left for a ceremony site. the living room of the cabin. the power was also out at this point. what did our friends do???? MOVED ALL THE FURNITURE in the cabin and set up a ceremony spot with my original decor. they moved the patio furniture on the deck so that it wouldn’t be in the background of the photos. they kept me in the loop all the while i was getting my hair & makeup ready- also by my friend! after the ceremony, it stopped storming. they wiped off the dance floor and all the chairs and moved the decor from the ceremony down to the dinner tables. we were able to have a semi-normal dinner! and after that- they PARTIED.

the morning after, they woke up and TOOK EVERYTHING DOWN. they packed up the tables & chairs into carts and wheeled them up a big hill back to the garage. they packed up my decor and put them back in boxes. they collected trash & took it out. they moved back all the furniture in the house. they did the dishes.

our friends are invaluable to us. we could not be more lucky to have such incredible people in our lives. this weekend ended up being more special than we could have ever planned it to be.
