I was born in Ogden. I got my first drumset in Layton. I met the tall blonde in Salt Lake City. I met so many of you in the Salt Lake City area! As much as anything, I was the problem in Utah. I needed to resolve a lot of issues. I needed to sober up. I kinda just tucked tail and ran. At least Oklahoma has allowed me to do all that: figure it out. Me and my dad have never been better. He's sober now, which is incredible. My dad, he's my best friend and favorite person to talk to. The growth he's made, it's inspired me to do the same. It's made me realize that Utah isn't the scene of a crime... It's a place I met so many great people. It's a place I played lots of shows. It's a place I found true family. I was able to, because of a lot of you talented people there who inspired me and encouraged me, really learn how to play drums with the confidence and musicality that I play them with now.

When I was there, I was always trying to make up for the love and respect I never thought I had. I was constantly fighting some pretty bad demons, running away to eventually have them catch up with me all over again in a new place. I'm the nerdy short guy who will beat the fucking piss out of a drumset. I'm the son of Val, who is a damn good man and loving father. I'm an alcoholic who hasn't had a drink in years. For the first time in 20 something years, I feel... I feel like me. Only, without all the demons attached.
I owe Utah so much...Thank you friends there. Thank you to my mom and dad. Thank you, Utah.
