Nothing makes working the homestead easier than having a strong back and forearms. Lifting, holding, moving, gripping heavy things all day every day is what you gotta do to build a homestead, and so it’s important to build the muscles capable of doing that. I’ve carried railroad ties across the property, dug trucks out of sand, dirt and snow, planted trees and hauled the compost to feed them. Each one of those tasks have been made easier by strength training. Lift ya damn weights.

Nordic hamstring curls are great for strengthening your hamstrings and preventing injury. If you have never done them before do not do 5x10 like I suggested, you will cramp up, hate me, and then die.
