Sometimes the best things in life arrive quietly.

Not with fireworks or grand plans, but with a steady hand, a kind heart, and a person who makes every day feel a little lighter.

Brady, loving you has been one of the easiest and most natural things I’ve ever done. You’ve shown me what it means to be truly cared for, fully supported, and deeply loved. In a world that moves fast, you’ve become my place of peace.

I never knew how much joy could be found in simply doing life alongside the right person. The laughter, the adventures, the ordinary moments, and the dreams still ahead—they all mean more because they’re with you.

Of all the titles I’ve earned and goals I’ve achieved, the future I’m most excited about is the one that ends with becoming your wife.

Forever sounds pretty wonderful with you. ā¤ļø by @bradyvhardin

So many things I can say about my bride to be, but these are the ones that matter to mešŸ’

Jalise has pursued me with the FIERCEST of loves. She redefines purpose. She continually motivates me to grow, to be a better man, and give more than just my all in everything I do. All that just through her presence, she is that contagious. She has helped me heal and breathed life back into the best parts of myself. Parts I was beginning to think I would never get back. She loves me for who I am, and loves that I am forever hers.

The way she looks at me like I did more than just hang the moon and write her name in the stars. The way she talks about and envisions our future, our family, our future children and the joy it brings her is captivatingly beautiful. The extraordinarily high level of care she has for me blows me away. She is the definition of hard work and dedication. Her old school, classic tastes are unmatched.

Little did I know the plans God had for the rest of my life would be with Jalise. His timing and sense of humor are always impeccable and better than we could ever hope for. The joy God has brought into my life through her cannot accurately be described through words or actions.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m getting ready for the rest of my life with the love of my lifešŸ’™

Throwback to the 2018 Florida Open. I was 23, baby-faced, and about to shoot the hardest match of my life at the time. It was also my first sanctioned match shooting a @nighthawkcustom 1911.

I overheard Shannon Smith tell someone at the match he designed the Florida Open to make people want to quit. It didn’t make me quit — but I left feeling lousy about my shooting.

But it was the kick in the teeth I needed. I rebuilt everything about my training regimen: two-a-day dry fire sessions, live fire 3-6 days per week. The next year I won my first Single Stack state champion title, then made Master class at my first USPSA Nationals.

2018 taught me one of the most valuable lessons in this sport: fail, learn, adjust, and move forward. Overall, learn to love the process.

What’s the most humbling match you’ve ever shot?

Sometimes a more aggressive plan can be beneficial, sacrificing points for speed can often times work out. Do you ever utilize more aggressive stage plans?

This one from Area 6 gave a lot of options due to the start position being anywhere in the shooting area and most of the targets opening up rather quickly.

I opted for a more aggressive plan that allowed me to shoot more targets while moving in order to get a better time on the stage. While I dropped a few more points on the stage, being 2 seconds faster still worked out fairly okay.

Does your grip have some unique characteristics? Mines gotten a few comments over the years because of this 1 characteristic.

Most people have always wondered why I grip the gun the way I do with my support hand. Well, here’s why lol

If you don’t know who @dave.sevigny is, you need to go spend some time on YouTube to learn who one of the greats is.

Sometimes there are certain elements within a stage that can add a twist. This particular stage from the @area6uspsa championship did just that.

The thing most people kept analyzing here was to either shoot the moving target before you activated it. The other option was to shoot the activator and take the risk of shooting the tight partial while walking over to shoot the moving target before the no shoot closed back over the target.

Majority of us decided shooting the available head box before activating the target was the better move for engagement of the mover, the activator, and that last partial target on a tight lean. Definitely still some risk involved if you didn’t know where to aim to not shoot the no shoot; particularly for the ones shooting a dot that were worried about height over bore.

Here, the best move for me was to shoot everything up front while retreating so that I would clear the wall as soon as those targets were engaged to hit the mover. Then at the end I used my height to shoot that partial target on the left without having to do the extra movement a lot of others made.

A little #45 #friday in video form. This was a pretty interesting stage at Factory Gun nationals.

Staying true to the positional theme of the match, this one had a lot of stops in the first half of stage. The 4th target was probably the most interesting spot to hit. But there was plenty of room to still walk and shoot the 3rd target and hit the position just right.

Went to 9 a couple times here with some pickups but thats life with an 8 round gunšŸ˜Ž

This stage I pushed pretty hard. Slid off the rails just a little bit but my focus was aggression, and I definitely achieved that here.

Only things I wish I would have been better about to potentially get the raw time under 14 seconds:

- Draw was pretty slow
- Leave sooner on the first 2 targets
- Hit my position better on the 3rd target
- Shoot the 2nd popper in the last position to have a faster exit
- Have a faster transition to the next to last paper target rather than just casually taking my time to swing the gun over

Is it easy for you to pick up a gun or a sighting system you haven’t used in a while? Or do you struggle a little?

This past weekend was the first time I shot this gun since @theuspsa Race Gun Nationals in August. And the first time shooting it with an optic since Alabama Sectional back in June. All I did was a few dry fire presentations and some movement in a safe area the morning of the match for probably 2 minutes or less. I was presenting the gun correctly and doing every else I needed to do, so I ran with it.

For me, it’s generally not been too hard to swap across different types of handguns. Doesn’t matter if it was a 1911 to a Glock, Glock to an Open gun, 2011 to a compact glock, or even a 1911 to a compact Beretta. I’ve typically been able to make the switch and shoot at roughly the same skill level and not feel hindered by the platform.

Am I at my absolute best when switching? No, but it typically doesn’t take me much time to get to that point.

When I first started messing with a red dot, the switching back and forth had some interesting challenges. Going from irons to a dot at first, I struggled mentally to just accept the visual movement and was trying like crazy to make the dot stay still. Then once I got over that hurdle, going back to irons was another challenge mentally because I hated the shooting with irons being harder than a dot. Got over that one eventually too.

This was the 2nd stage of the day after a pretty successful first stage, and some funny smack talking šŸ˜‚ felt good to be ripping the hi cap gun again.

Dry fire questions. What does your dry fire schedule look like?

Mine has definitely changed a lot over the years but I’ve always tried to maintain a certain level of consistency in it. Focused dry fire matters.
