Hey ya’ll! This summer was so jam packed with photo sessions and just day to day life. I had to take a bit of a break from posting, but as my busy season is staring to chill I’m back at content creation.

In August I was a photographer and content creator @wyovibeventure. It was so much fun and Lauren is one the raddest people I’ve met in awhile. So happy she decided to bring this to Sheridan!

Make sure to check the next one out in October. Early bird tickets just went on sale. 💕👌 this was a heck of a time.

10:30 at night and I’m trying to post something to market myself. 🤣🫠

It’s funny… I made this after the kids were in bed and was laughing to myself. I hype you up about starting a business to stay home with your kids but here I am late at night working.

On the other hand, my day looked like lunch + park with friends and swimming later on. Starting a business doesn’t mean you don’t have to work. It just gives you the freedom to do it on your timeline so you don’t miss out on their childhood.

Yesterday at church, our pastor said something I thought was interesting. “Your career isn’t always what God called you to do.” Living in our society has really pushed the narrative that you must know exactly what you want to do and find your passion in your work. But what if you aren’t passionate about your career? What if you like just enough to do it well and have fun?

10 years ago when I picked up a camera, I thought maybe it could be a hobby that turns into something more. Maybe I could quit working overtime every week and make extra money taking photos? Maybe it could be the thing that keeps me with my daughter a little more.

And that’s exactly what it did. 10 years later I can claim the roll as stay at home mom while paying for things for my kiddos. 🫶🏼

Hi new photographer— when you’re starting a biz you’re going to go through a lot of emotions. You’re gonna have highs and lows. It’s all a normal part of the process.

🤷🏻‍♀️ here’s a couple things I wish someone would have told me when I was starting out.

1) your friends and family won’t be your clients and they might hire a different photographer.

2) the people who you build your portfolio with probably won’t hire you (not always— I have had people come back and I appreciate that so dang much).

It’s normal to feel sad— you’re a human that’s building a creative business. It’s not always gonna be sunshine and rainbows.

Spent the weekend in the grand Tetons taking photos. They turned out so amazing!!!!! I also got to be a “guest” and help at a wedding in between.
