The years pass. The cars change. New chapters are written.

But the feeling of this place never does.

For generations, BIR has been where people come together, traditions are passed down, and memories become stories we tell for years.

We are BIR. And this is our story. by @brainerdraceway

Find your fun.

Drag racing. Road course. Drifting. Watercross. Music. Fireworks. Big weekends. Midweek chaos. First-timers and BIR lifers.

The 2026 Brainerd International Raceway schedule is live — and there’s more than one way to do BIR.

This is just the beginning. More dates, partner-hosted events, and special additions will be announced as the season continues to come together. Stay tuned.

Save it. Screenshot it. Start planning your fun.

From Minivans to Corvettes. First laps to fast laps. A lot of laughter, a few nerves, big smiles and even bigger hugs. 🏁💜

This was the launch of The Collective, a new @brainerdlakeschamber program bringing professional women together to build courage, confidence and connection. And for our first event, we started with courage.

At @brainerdraceway , women took the wheel, rode along, tried something new and heard honest stories from women who know a thing or two about taking the first step.

A few words we’re still thinking about:
1. You may be the first example another woman sees. Be the “she” who shows her it’s possible.
2. “You’re not failing if you don’t try.” Try, fail, learn, and grow. You might never find out if you don't take that first step.

Thank you to every woman who showed up—not just for this event, but for herself. Whether your courageous step was getting behind the wheel, walking into a room where you didn’t know anyone or simply making time to be there, you took it.

A special thank you to the women who shared their stories on our panel. You gave us more than a conversation. You were open about the risks, choices, challenges and moments of courage that shaped your unique paths, and gave other women in the room something to see in themselves.

Thank you to the entire Brainerd International Raceway team and driving instructors for giving us an experience we won’t soon forget; @lakelandnews_mn for stopping out to capture the day; and Dave Timm with @muzzleblastmedia for helping us relive it soon.

SAVE THE DATE: December 3
The Collective returns at @thevenuebaxter in Baxter for our next gathering, this time centered on connection.

Sharing your photos from the day? Tag Brainerd International Raceway and the Brainerd Lakes Chamber so we can see them, too!

THE LAST BIR EVENT OF 2026 🛞

3 DAYS OF SEAT TIME.
Dramamine sponsorship incoming.

Your tires have two possible futures:

Spend a Minnesota winter cold, neglected and stacked behind the lawn mower…

OR GO OUT IN A CLOUD OF GLORY AT BIR.

The choice is obvious.

Bring the drift car. Bring the tires. Bring that questionable stack you’ve been saving since 2023.

Together, we can make sure no drift tire survives 2026.

This could be you. 🏁

On Wednesday September 30, women from across the Lakes Area are coming together at @brainerdraceway to launch something NEW.

The Collective is a new Brainerd Lakes Chamber program created for professional women to build courage, confidence and connection—with experiences that get us out of our routines, introduce us to new people and make space for our own growth.

And we’re starting on the track.

Hear from the women leading BIR, connect with other professional women and experience the track from the driver’s seat or hang on for a fast-paced ride along.

A growing group of women are already registered, and there's a seat waiting just for you.

The Battle of the Axe brought a little Brainerd Lakes Area pride to the NHRA Nationals this year 🪓

A big shoutout to the Brainerd Lakes Chamber, Visit Brainerd/Baxter and I Saw It In MN for helping bring this one to life.

The NHRA Nationals brings race fans from all over the country to BIR, and we love getting to show off the Brainerd Lakes Area while they’re here.

Thanks to everyone who helped make the Battle of the Axe happen this year! by @brainerdraceway
