We had a week of hiking in the Engadine canton in Switzerland. It's easy to get up to 2500m in these mountains. The air is so crisp you can see way across the valley and into the far distance. The morning light is blueish as the pines release some kind of vapour. The afternoons are sparkling, with a feirce sun and a cool breeze. by @brainsofmud

We had an unbelievable week in The Highlands. It was either perfect blue skies, horizontal hail, or deep fresh snow. We bagged our first munro as a family (last shot), got snowed in and had to be dug out by friendly neighbours (7th) and had a bit of menty b at the top of a hill, of which there are photos, but I'm not allowed to post them. by @brainsofmud

Presenting this years contribution to the annual Sarah McConnell Miserable Russell Family Portrait. This year was difficult because we mostly had spectacular blue skies or blizzard conditions that would have killed the camera. In this shot it had just stopped horizontal sleet hailing. The keen eyed will observe actual melting sleet upon the lens. taken in Ardheslaig, Highland, United Kingdom by @brainsofmud
