I wanted to do a deconstructed look into the Queen of Hearts. @ritaora is the ultimate avant-garde muse and is always down to play, and this is how we got there.

For Wonderland, we layered several shades of satin in reds, rose golds, and pink fabrics sourced from all over the world. Rosalie masterfully draped the sculptural rose and asymmetrical hem, while every panel of the bodice was individually hand dyed by my ombré queens, @roxirabbit and @emilykathleenmcintyre , before being sculpted into the final silhouette.

The Tea Party look was a whole different beast. The skirt had to be draped, cut, and hand dyed in pieces before going to the pleaters (@twinspleating) in LA , then shipped back to Vancouver for construction. Fun fact: once something is pleated, you can’t hem it. Every panel had to be perfect before it left our workroom.

These costumes only exist because of the incredible artists behind them. Costume design is always a team effort, and I’m so proud of every single person who helped bring the Queen of Hearts to life. by @bramli
