If we were a baseball team’s management, this season would be identified as, “a building year.”
With more transition than ever and a changing roster of locations, apartments, daycares, schools and jobs, it’s a miracle we’ve kept it together.
Taking a look back at it though, knowing you can still find moments of happiness in an otherwise underwhelming year, confirms two things:
1. You’re my person, forever and despite everything else that happens, you are constant source of energy, joy, inspiration and the best mother to our kids!
2. 2024 is going to be a year where we continue to grow, more supportive of one another and deeper in love!

Wouldn’t be able to capture the WHOLE HUMAN you have already become at FOUR(4). 23’ has brought a lot of change and you’ve powered through it all; leaving our community in BK, moving to SF, taking all these new changes AND being an older sister in stride! A #2022Highlight was my amazing wife bringing another healthy happy baby into our lives. This time around a BOY! Luca, you and your mother both have already taught me so much about love, patience, joy, and a whole lot more I can’t bring to mind on this cross country flight from our old home in #BK to our new home in #SF. But if the years since the pandemic has taught me any-fucking-thing it’s that, no matter what challenge or obstacles we face, when we’re together, everything will be alright. #vayaconghios 📸: @asamp taken in Brooklyn, New York by @brand_on

You met 3-K with a little bit of anxiety, missing miss Cheryl and not wanting to leave Mom, Dad and baby brother. Now you look forward to our morning scoot to class, running into neighbors, friends, business owners and talking about what you’ll do that day or which classmate or teacher you might spot on our way. At first you were insistent upon me walking you to the door but now once you see it, you run for it, leaving me to walk back home with your scooter, it makes me both so happy and sad at the same time (*Dad’s just getting a bit sentimental as we prepare to wrap up life in NYC). We’ve got a wonderful community here, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t worried about when we move and the first time you’ll ask to see your friends from Brooklyn, or Cheryl, or your teachers, classmates. I know it’ll hurt (me probably more than you), but like most moments of discomfort we stand to grow and learn much more from its temporary sting. Best part is, Mom, Dad and brother got you, we’ve got each other, we’ve got family, friends in SF too, and we’ll have great memories and friends to visit whenever we’re feeling nostalgic. Lola. I always wanted a daughter first and you’ve 1,000,000x the expression! Fun, funny, smart, snappy, caring, thoughtful, unfiltered and raw to who you are. I’ve never felt a love like this and it’s often overwhelming for me when you’re down, or sick, hurt and angry but I know you know I got your back.
