Are you charging enough to pay yourself AND leave room for profit? 😊🙌🏻

Start by adding up what it costs to deliver your offer, including your own time.

Let’s say you’re a hairstylist doing a two-hour service:

• Your labor: $50/hour × 2 = $100
• Products used: $42
• Booth rental allocated to this service: $32

Your total cost is $174.

To leave 20% of your price as profit, divide your total cost by 0.80.

$174 ÷ 0.80 = $217.50

Of that $217.50, you’ve planned $100 to pay yourself, covered $74 in other costs, and left $43.50 in profit before income taxes.

Make sure your costs also account for overhead, like insurance and payment processing fees. If your booth rental is $32 for the whole day, split that cost across the services you deliver that day.

And leave room for taxes! Include applicable business taxes in your costs and work with your tax professional to determine your income and self-employment tax reserve. If you’re a sole proprietor, your own pay may still be taxable, too.

This gives you a starting price. Your experience and the value you deliver may support charging more.

The same approach works for products, services, and consulting when you include your full costs.

Literally wake up early. That’s it that’s the cheat code. Wake up before anyone else in your house and eat the frog as Tony Robbin’s would say. You have to stay consistent with the unsexy and boring stuff for a longer time period than you think you need to. Keep writing your one goal down and the action items you need to complete to get to the goal. Do those 3 things for a year and watch your entire life change.
1.) Wake Up Early - 5 am or earlier
2.) Eat the frog!
3.) Write down your goal and action items daily to move you closer to the goal
