Well, what a way to wake up!✨I am SO grateful for this beautiful review from Stephen Sorokoff of BroadwayWorld following the opening night of Miss Sutton, Live! at 54 Below!

To have this labor of love received with such warmth and enthusiasm means more than I can express! My people showed UP FOR MEEE!!!🥹

And what a thrill to share the stage with these incredibly talented musicians. My brilliant music director and pianist, @josephjoubert88keys, the amazing @longrooves on drums, and the fabulous @lo__qi on bass! These gentlemen bring so much artistry, soul, and magic to every note, and I am lucky to make music with them!🙌🏾✨

I was SO excited to make this debut, and I knew I had to call in all my favorite BIG GUNS to help make me feel like a Queen! 👑✨

@mysterjackson laid this hair, baby, @timmackaybeauty beat this face to a bloody pulp, and my gorgeous custom dress designed by @edwingdangeloofficial fulfilled my dream to step out like Jessica Rabbit🤩 They understood the assignment! 💋

And NONE of this would be possible without the genius that is my Fairy Godfather @broadwaydick THEE Richard Jay-Alexander, who envisioned me on that stage before I saw it for myself. He believed and invested in me when he didn’t have to. And came out of retirement to do it! I’m forever grateful🥹✨

What a night. What a journey!! But you know what? We’re not done yet! ONE MORE SHOW! Sunday, October 11 at 7 PM! Come experience Miss Sutton, Live! for yourself!

Some musical ideas feel divinely appointed before a SINGLE note is sung. I’m beyond honored to be part of and star in a beautiful new work premiering this December about the little known story of the African Market Women who ran the Charleston City Market for over 200 years with their magnificence during the Revolutionary War!

Composed by the brilliant @armandthebass (who I went to COLLEGE with) and libretto by the extraordinary @mskarenchilton -this brainchild of @africanmaritimequeen already feels rich with story, sound, and spirit. And get into this exquisite artwork by the legendary @jonathangreenart 🤩 To collaborate with artists who know the depth of the work- and who know my voice and me- is a gift!

What an unforgettable evening at Cecilia Chorus of New York’s Raise Our Voices Gala! 🎶✨

From extraordinary performances to wonderful moments of celebration and connection, the evening was a beautiful reminder of the power of music to bring us together.

I called her Mama A💗 She told my mother I was her daughter now. When I moved to NYC years ago trying for a career, getting rejection after rejection, she gave me my first YES. I’m a proud alum of the Martina Arroyo Foundation’s #PreludetoPerformance young artist program. I got my first glowing NYTimes review because of her forcing me to sing Butterfly😆 (that audition was hilarious). I learned much from this amazing diva and woman, especially her determination to give back to the next generation, but two things I still practice to this day... She always said, never sing louder than beautiful, and know who you are before page one of the score.✨

She came to me in a dream this morning. I burst into tears as she was talking and couldn’t let her finish, so much so it woke me from it, and tears were running down my face. I hope she visits me again🥹 She was an important piece of my journey in this crazy business and I’m forever grateful. My heart is broken. Take your rest, Mama A. You live on through so many of us. 🎉 What a night!

Raise Our Voices was everything we hoped it would be, extraordinary music, a room full of people who believe in this work, and a celebration 120 years in the making.

We were so proud to honor Dr. Soon-Young Yoon as the first-ever recipient of the Cecilia Chorus Crescendo Award. She earned every moment of that standing ovation.

To everyone who came to 54 Below, watched the livestream, performed, donated, and cheered us on: thank you. You are the reason this chorus has a future.

The evening is over. The music is not. Next stop: Carnegie Hall, December 4th Handel’s Judas Maccabaeus.

Last night, Miss Sutton Live, was one for the books. Brandie Inez Sutton @brandie_inez killed it last night at 54 Below in New York City. The concert was SOLD OUT. She will return on Sunday, October 11, they are a few tickets left. With music director Joseph Joubert @josephjoubert88keys and director Richard Jay-Alexander @broadwaydick, the concert was perfection and genius! I have represented some of the best female vocalists in the world and Brandie is in that group. Really...Aretha Franklin loved Brandie's extraordinary talent and shared with Brandie how gifted, rare, exceptional and brilliant she was as an artist. Clive Davis told Brandie personally that she sound like an Angel (I heard it myself). Aretha always said to me, "Gwen, I know the singers." I never forgot that.

Brandie, I fell in love with your musical talent when I first saw you perform. You just keep getting better and better!
