Celebrating my mother’s birthday with the whole family was truly amazing. @shagbarkrva has always delivered a phenomenal dining experience and Richmond is so lucky to have such a place. I’m so privileged to call it my alma mater, and to have been a small part in what it has become. Thank you @swmpbk @mechanicsvillemeatgrinder @randollski @big_zizz @roddawg @rva_octopus for a truly great dinner with my family. taken in Shagbark RVA by @brandon.macconnell

SOUS CHEF SHOUT OUT! Mad props to @wokurbruhf for the thoughtful and professional design, detail and execution of a custom menu for a group @barwest.804 tonight! Not only does this dude work his ass off, he always has a great energy and is a great leader in the kitchen! **He also may have painted some bad ass murals in our courtyard (last pic) @barwest.804 and a steel @fetchacure dog as well! Give him a follow and keep your eyes on this dude! Thanks for everything Walk! by @brandon.macconnell

Cooking that bomb alaskan halibut we caught in Homer for great friends is the best way to spend a Sunday night. Thanks @roosterglass for the lens work 📷 and my amazing sous chef @drummin_kv and mama pat for keeping a dope kitchen stocked for me! taken in Richmond, Virginia by @brandon.macconnell

I don’t normally post about my family or anything other than food really, but the last ten days have reminded me how fortunate I am to have them and how much more there is to life than just the grind. Pops isn’t on IG, but @b_macconnell and I just spent the most time we ever have together with him, and it was really special. So many memories and pictures to go through and they will certainly be shared over drinks at bamboo with friends. There is so much beauty in the northwest and Alaska, but being there with family was the best part. Cheers to you Dad, and to the memories you just made for Trip & I. Love ya Pops, meant it! taken in Homer, Alaska by @brandon.macconnell

@emeraldloungerva completely surpassed my expectations 🤯- I knew it was going to be amazing, but wow. RVA just got something amazing. The details, the hard work that went into it and the quality make for such an amazing guest experience, and I was only there for 30 mins with @hannah_king11 and mr Rosser. Kudos to @flipflopswithsocks, @thunderbirdcakes and @hagglundmn for building a gemstone richmond will embrace and love for years to come! taken in Church Hill by @brandon.macconnell
