As we tip toeing in our hills into September, wanted to share a project that’s been in the works. A space for black same gender loving men to come together and Check-In. Here’s a space for us to discuss topics that cater to our community. Conversation facilitated by: @fourpillarscounseling Sip and Paint Hosted by: @huemanitystudios Event Presented by: @thrive_alabama (registration link on there page) If you need a space to unwind and be around like minded Ponks, you know where to be. 🤣 by @brandon_okief
As I leave the 2026 Mighty Boule, I am truly honored and humbled to have been named the 2026 Neophyte of the Year (Small Chapter). When I first joined The Academia Society, I had the same reservations that come with stepping into any new journey. Since then, I’ve made it a priority to listen, learn, build meaningful relationships, and continue growing. My previous leadership experiences within queer nonprofits and community organizations have helped shape the leader and neophyte I am today, but this organization has challenged me to grow in entirely new ways. As I continue my journey with The Academia Society, I am grateful to now serve as the Southern Regional Tamiochous (2026–2028) while continuing the work of expanding the Huntsville Chapter. To everyone who has encouraged, mentored, supported, and believed in me….Thank You. This recognition is an honor that I do not take lightly, and it motivates me to continue serving with excellence, integrity, and purpose. Here’s to the next chapter. The work continues. 💚🖤☝🏾🦋 #TheAcademiaSociety #MightBoule2026 #NeophyteOfTheYear #Leadership by @brandon_okief
Still not over The Function Mini Ball. 🤩 This reel does not do the night justice! As always, I can rely on my AL KiKi family to show up and show out. While also watching new faces step into the space and try ballroom for the first time, meant everything. I hope HSV continues to grow the space for the queer community to be loud, and unapologetically themselves. 🥺 Thank you to everyone who walked, cheered, volunteered, and poured into making this night so special. Until the next one… 💫🏳️‍🌈 by @brandon_okief

🖤❤️💚 Happy Juneteenth & Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈 This month, we celebrate freedom, resilience, visibility, and the beauty of living authentically. We also want to take a moment to recognize the incredible Black queer individuals and organizations right here in Huntsville who are creating spaces, curating events, building community, and ensuring that LGBTQIA+ people have opportunities to connect, celebrate, and thrive. This reel highlights just some of the events and experiences being offered throughout our city. If you see an event, organization, or creator featured, take a moment to follow them, share their content, attend an event, volunteer, or simply show your support. Your support matters. Your presence matters. Community matters. Please take the time to support the LGBTQIA+ people you call your friends, family members, coworkers, neighbors, and loved ones…And not just during Pride Month, but all year long. Here's to Black joy. Here's to liberation. Here's to Pride. ✨ #HappyJuneteenth #HappyPrideMonth #BlackPride #BlackQueerJoy #HuntsvilleAL #LGBTQIA #CommunityOverEverything #SupportLocal #BlackQueerCollective #PrideMonth #Juneteenth #HuntsvilleEvents by @brandon_okief
