The journey of letting go and giving everything to God was a hard one for me at first.

As someone who had lived a very self-reliant life, the whole idea of truly surrendering everything to God was foreign to me. But it has become the greatest decision I have ever made.

And I’ve learned that giving it to God isn’t a one-time thing. I give it all to God every single day.

He is my Rock and my Strong Tower.

In times of joy, I look up.
In times of trouble, I look up.
In times of confusion, I look up.
In times of pain, I look up.
And in times of gratitude, I look up.

In everything, I LOOK UP! 🙌🏾

The entire process, to me, can be summed up in one verse:

«“Be still, and know that I am God.”
— Psalm 46:10»

So no matter what you’re going through today, LOOK UP!

God’s got you. 🙏🏾💜

Food for Thought: Correction Without Offense

If we are truly being led by the Holy Spirit, then we need to understand that there is no reason for us to become offended or feel as though our leader is “picking on us” simply because a teaching or preaching message confronts something within us.

God works through the entire Body of Christ. That means sometimes the lesson, the correction, or the conviction we need will come through our leader.

The question is: Will we receive it, or will we become offended by it?

First, we are called to set our minds on things above and not on earthly things (Colossians 3:2).

There is no place for offense, pride, bitterness, or division in the Kingdom of God. We are one Body with many members, and each of us has a different function. God has placed leaders among us to help equip, teach, correct, and mature the saints.

How can we truly grow under godly leadership if we refuse to be corrected?

Correction is not rejection.
Conviction is not condemnation.
Being challenged is not being attacked.

Sometimes what irritates us most is the very thing God wants to deal with in us.

We also have to remember that Jesus Himself walked in submission and obedience. If Christ willingly humbled Himself and submitted to the will of the Father, who are we to believe that we are above correction, instruction, or godly accountability?

True spiritual maturity is not demonstrated by how quickly we defend ourselves when we are corrected. It is demonstrated by our willingness to examine our hearts and ask:

“Lord, what are You trying to show me through this?”

Of course, godly leadership should always operate according to Scripture, love, humility, and the character of Christ. But when correction comes, our first response should not be offense. It should be prayer, discernment, humility, and a willingness to grow.

If we are truly led by His Spirit, then we should desire to become more like Christ—even when that process requires us to be corrected.

Food for thought:
Am I offended by the person delivering the correction, or am I willing to ask God whether there is something He wants to correct within me? by @brandyupshawofficial
