Summited the highest peak in
the lower 48 - 📍Mt Whitney 🏔️⛏️❄️
Day trip - 19hrs. Midnight start.
14,505 ft. 22 miles. 6,663 elevation gain. & A LOT of no fall zones.
This was the most insane & demanding challenge I have ever done. I don’t quit anything, but by the time we were ice axing up the chute I was ready to hit eject. My body was not having it. Nature is very humbling. I got altitude sickness & yacked my brains out a good 25 times on this journey. Then when we got to the top of the mountaineering route we still had another 1,000 elevation gain with 1.9 never ending miles to go to summit (only 30% of people make it to summit on a day hike). However, I didn’t just spend hours climbing in knee deep of snow to not make it to the tippy! Really testing the mentals here. So we dig deep & push. One foot in front of the other.
