Della Terra - This was my 3rd place cocktail in the #bordigalaststop competition. A very Minnesota summery take on a Negroni. The flavors take me back to my childhood and a classic Minnesota combo: Strawberry & Rhubarb. This drink is the perfect marriage of Minnesota and Italy.

Very proud of this one and learned a lot while creating it. A stand out part of the experience for me was creating my own vermouth using botanicals all native to Minnesota, while using the classic Italian techniques in making vermouth. As well as creating different acid solutions and seeing the effects they have on cocktails.

Now you can make one yourself. Or just come enjoy one @floraroommpls when the new menu drops soon! by @brantwuan

Had a blast at the #bordigalaststop event. And had even more fun creating this cocktail for it. “Della Terra” - a very Minnesota take on a summery Negroni. I made a vermouth using botanicals all native to Minnesota, Bordiga Aperitivo, Norseman strawberry rhubarb gin, Cocchi Americano, strawberry bitters, house made acid solution. Thanks @shopsurdyks for hosting

3rd Place wasn’t a bad finish with how much talent was in the room

This is my submission to the #laststopbordiga competition @bordiga1888.

Since the first time I tried Bordiga Bianco I was hooked and it still remains my favorite vermouth. I’ve made countless cocktails with it at @floraroommpls for guests and this may be my favorite one yet.

She is complex, elevated, and light just like Bordiga Bianco. Her name is Share The Sea, a reference to the Mediterranean Sea that links all of the main ingredients in the drink. (Almost all of which are Italian)

SHARE THE SEA

10ml Lemon Juice
10ml Hojicha infused Amontillado Sherry
10ml Montenegro
20ml Genepy
30ml Bordiga Bianco

Stirred and strained into a Nic n Nora glass

Honestly, victory has never tasted so sweet. Or bitter. I worked really hard on this one and words can’t express how much it means to have my name on this trophy. This is the one competition I wanted to win this year and I couldn’t have done it without my team.

First and foremost I have to thank @bre_likethecheese she is my rock and the one who kept me true to myself when I wanted to drop out. With such a short timeline to prepare I didn’t think I was going to be able to bring a winning drink from conception to finish in time. She pushed me to keep drinking Malört tirelessly

A huge thanks goes out to @zsapato who helped me bring my vision to life, without him this wouldn’t have been possible. @dewyj_ for always helping me. You are a visionary. @liliafae for her lovely assistance. All of my friends and @floraroommpls staff that came out to support me. You all made this the most memorable experience. @katydimick @we.are.new.france for always hosting the best events. @mortimersbar for having us. And of course @jeppsonsmalort for making the finest elixir in the land 🤌🏼

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention @the.neon.cowboy You’re constantly inspiring me and pushing our craft. Your performance on that stage was incredible and raised the bar once again. Thank you for feeding me Malört from a toilet 🤘🏼

Incredibly honored to have shared the @floraroommpls bar w/the legendary @creativedrunk & @wilderness_nyc last night. In collaboration with @vecchioamarodelcapo & @mn.ice these gents from @amoryamargo put on such a memorable pop-up. Their creations were deeply thoughtful & delicious, only 2nd to their hospitality & knowledge. Catch me behind the @amoryamargo bar in the near future. Cheers! by @brantwuan
