A scent that smells different from different people. Some say it’s a gourmand, some say it smells like toasted bread, others say it smells ambery and ashy. For me, Story of Your Life is probably all of that plus more. It has a faint whiff of booziness, subtle ambers giving it a somewhat warm comforting feeling. If I smell it close to my nose, I do get the toasty bread sensation. But what makes it different for me is its whiff. That scent bubble that comes and goes. From a distance, my nose picks up accords of creamy fig which I love. This is a perfect chill day scent. On my skin, this performs nicely. A new favorite, Story of Your Life from @etatlibreorange Etat Libre D’Orange is available at @filosofia_indonesia in Surabaya. 🎥: @ck_photoworks / @christkornell by @branvargas

A little piece of Dubai in the heart of Jakarta! I found a gem around the area of Cikini and it felt just like what I experienced in Dubai only combined with Indonesian hospitality. Ajmal’s first store, located at Jakarta offers something more than fragrances, they give you an experience. A must visit if you’re around the area or want to browse and explore scents from the Middle East. by @branvargas

1x8 from @dottofragrances Head: Lemon, Violet Leaf, Nutmeg, Calabrian Bergamot, Sicilian Mandarin Heart: Lily of the Valley, Tuscan Iris, Indian Jasmine, Bulgarian Rose Base: Oak Moss, Australian Sandalwood, Agarwood, Ambergris An elegant fragrance, 1x8 draws its inspiration from Jane Austen’s Emma, capturing a sense of refinement, quiet confidence, and understated sophistication. It opens with a burst of fresh citrus, bright and invigorating without leaning too tart or sharp. As the initial freshness settles, the composition gradually unfolds into a delicate floral heart, where airy white florals intertwine with the soft, powdery nuances of violet. The osmanthus lends a particularly intriguing dimension to the fragrance, bringing an apricot-like fruitiness accompanied by a subtle, almost saline undertone that adds an unexpected layer of complexity. As the scent develops on the skin, it settles into a gentle foundation of mossy accords and exotic woods, lending the composition a quiet earthiness and a touch of warmth without overwhelming its airy character. There is something effortlessly graceful about the way these elements come together. Rather than making a bold statement, 1x8 exudes a polished, understated elegance that feels timeless, much like the literary world that inspired it.
