Four days of sailing in our beautiful archipelago. We started off towards Säck and a beautiful nature harbour. Day two gave us a big storm so we found a small bay north west on Möja where we spent the night. Day three we headed towards Lådna to also a beautiful covered little bay. Day four we headed home and a total of 50 extra nautical miles are in our logbook..

First sail of the year is in the books!
We did a short 3-hour sail around a local island called Stora Älgön (which means “Big Moose Island”)—but sadly, no moose were spotted 😅
We had some nice southern winds and got to practice tacking on the way out, then cruised downwind on the way home.
Two happy sailors with sunburned faces… next time, maybe a hat or some sunscreen 😅

Giving the cabin a little cozier vibe—and a deep ‘clean.’ Amazing what a bit of thick paint can do to hide the ugly spots. 🎨⛵️

Finally she is looking like a sailboat again ⛵️Now we are just waiting for some warmer weather and good winds 🤞🫡

The mast is up!
We managed to step the mast all by ourselves—and that was the goal: to try, maybe make a few mistakes, and learn along the way. We did have a small rookie slip (lifting rope over the spreader wires… oops!) but it was an easy fix, and from there it was smooth sailing.

Now we know how to take the mast down and put it back up, which feels like a big win. This week, we’ll get the sails on and—fingers crossed—catch some sunshine and steady winds to take her out under sails.

We kept hearing Mr. Miyagi in our heads today: “wax on, wax off.” First time polishing and waxing the boat, and wow… what a difference!

Two more weeks and then it’s time I get her in the water and we got a lot of stuff that needs to be done before that 😅

Today it was raining and we took the opportunity to sand and treat the wooden pieces we dismantled from Joline.

We’re also working on Joline’s interior. There’s still a lot to do and learn… but what a pleasure to take out piece by piece to renew!
