So many great memories—state champions, tournaments with my family, playing with my best friends, and always looking in the stands to see my parents. I’ve enjoyed every second. I owe many of my life lessons to baseball: dealing with adversity, not listening to those who doubt what you’re capable of, and learning that nothing lasts forever (except the love of our Father in Heaven).

I want to thank my family—thank you for always supporting me and giving me the chance to play such an amazing sport. Thank you to all of my coaches; I’ve learned something from each of you. Thank you to all of my teammates.

I want to specifically thank my dad. Thank you for teaching me how to play baseball. Thank you for coming to every single game. Thank you for showing me what true love looks like and for never letting me give anything less than my best effort.

I’ve known from day one that my big brother Lleyton was watching from Heaven. Born on April 27th and living for just 27 days, I’ve worn number 27 my whole life in his honor. I hope I’ve made you proud up there, brother.

Dear Brook Hill Football,

Thank you for bringing me some of my best friends. Thank you for teaching me lesson after lesson as the last 7 years have unfolded. It is bitter sweet that my season was cut short because of injury. Bitter because I didn’t get to play with my brothers for the last 5 weeks of the season. But sweet because I learned how to deal with adversity and help the team from the sidelines. I could not have asked for a better group of guys to be surrounded by. I am so thankful for my coaches and all of the hard work they put forth day in and day out. I would not trade a single minute with my team. The practices, the games, the buss rides, film on Saturday morning after getting home at 2:30 am. Not a single minute. God truly blessed me with the best team I could ever ask for.
