I was a panelist on a session about Integrating Legal Professionals into Financial Inclusion Systems for National Development. While I was in the midst of legal and financial professionals, I gave four succinct points:

1) Lawyers are in the business of Law. We are not just professionals and it’s high time we begin to act like it.
2) Starting something —no matter how small—gives us better insights of the clients we advise
3) You remuneration as a Lawyer must not always be cash. Legal knowledge and expertise is a service and services can always be bartered.
4) Collaborate! You don’t have to do this alone.

How many lives have you lived?
For want of time, I could not get into every single life I’ve lived—especially the ones from the last four years.
How many lives have you lived?
For me, I see all these different lives as alternate realities that could have been my sole reality if I chose to stick just one.

See the problem with living just one life is the fear of starting another, you might not even think that you are allowed to. Meanwhile, the possibilities of who you could be are endless.

It’s been 3 years and while in some regards, it feels like just yesterday we said “We Do”, in other ways, we have felt every single day. This love, this depth of companionship and camaraderie cannot come from a love that is not present.

We have been incredibly blessed to have each other and we have not taken that blessing for granted not even once. Instead, we have watered it, pruned it, fed it, held it and cradled it with the sensitivity and sometimes reckless abandon that it deserves.

In the turbulence of life and indeed, we have faced some perilous times, God has given us each other as an anchor, a tether to what is real and true and important. A respite for the hardness of the world. A home.

That’s what we are to each other, our home. We have also built a safe space and soft landing in our home for our friends and family.

God sure knew what he was doing when he fashioned this and called us good.

Our Third year was trying, but not for us. Around us. Not once did the waters from the storm rock our boat and I’m so proud of us.

I can’t wait for the rest of our happily ever after!

Valentine is over.
But here was my wife’s special gift.
One of her gifts.

In 2025, my wife wrote newsletters every month on @substack

She built discipline. She built voice. She built courage

So for Valentine’s Day, I did something different.
I turned her entire year on @substack, January to December, into a printed magazine. Designed it. Compiled it. Added photos.

Today was a really long day, so long that I actually forgot that I have a standing newsletter obligation to get out on the first of every month. Wonderful!!!

Thankfully I remembered just in time to write it as honestly and as truthfully as I possibly could with the time I had.

DAY 30 — The Grand Finale
Law, Balance & Fairness in Tenancy

We’ve spent 30 days breaking down the landlord–tenant relationship under Nigerian law. From the very first step of signing a tenancy agreement, to complex issues like quit notices, eviction processes, sale of property, arrears, service charges, and harassment—one theme kept coming back: the law seeks balance and fairness.

💜 Landlords have the right to rent, protect their property, and recover it when the term ends.
💜 Tenants have the right to quiet enjoyment, fair notice, and protection against unlawful eviction or intimidation.

Every topic—from “What happens if a tenant refuses to leave?” to “Who bears old electricity bills?”—showed us one truth: tenancy is a partnership, not a battlefield.

The courts have consistently emphasized this. Agreements must be honored. Due process must be followed. And where rights clash, the law steps in to restore order.

💜 Golden rule: Respect the agreement. Follow due process. Protect each other’s rights. That is how tenancy truly works.

Day 29 — Tenant Rights Against Harassment

Midnight knocks, sudden threats, unannounced visits—none of these are legal. As a tenant, you have the right to quiet enjoyment of your home. Landlord harassment is unlawful, and the courts have made it clear: landlords must follow due process, not intimidation.
