Well, a persistent chill in the air reminds me that indeed, Summer has gone all too fast - though not without days full to the brim with sunshine, connection, growth, grind, and joy! ☀️ Summer around here (as I’m sure it is for most) is play hard, play fast. A season filled with adventure, routine, and a stretched calendar - a clear sign of vibrant LIFE 🤍 Grateful by @brayden_avery

It’s been 6 Months + 1 Week since Adler man hopped on the Scene! 🤯 My, how the time has flown. Our first flight (and 7 more), the newborn scrunch, Breastfeeding, Size 1&2 diapers, our first food and the bedside bassinet all behind us - HOW?!

On my first Mother’s Day, I had a moment to reflect to myself on this whole Motherhood situation. Mother’s Day 2023, I was early in my pregnancy. Only a few people knew, but those that did, wished me a Happy Mother’s Day. It made my skin crawl. I remember thinking, “we BOTH have to make it there, still”. I was NOT handling the pregnancy well and I was absolutely TERRIFIED for what was in store. I was nervous that my whole world would change - that the peaceful life we had created would be replaced with stress and uncertainty. I was nervous that my relationships would change, our business would suffer, nervous that our doggies lives would change, and scared to face the inevitable changes and pain my body would endure.

I wish I could tell her some of that would come true. But it wouldn’t be so scary.

My body is different - but I’ve been able to look back on previous photos of myself with kinder eyes than ever before. My relationships have changed - but in such a strong way; little did I know, I would walk with some of my closest friends in Motherhood, and our child free friends would effortlessly take on a new role as Auntie + Uncle. My husband would be stronger and more tender than ever before. What was 13hour days in front of the computer has turned into working between naps and finding inspiration in the new mundane; creating healthy work boundaries and has given creativity a new meaning. Watching the dogs bond with Adler has been immeasurably joyful knowing they will become his childhood souldogs.

And our ‘Peaceful’ life - has NEVER been more peaceful. I heard a quote once that said “yeah, kids slow us down. But maybe that’s the point”. When Adler was first born, there was no ‘magical moment’ I didn’t feel like I had just met my soulmate or have any sort of crazy out of body experience. I felt just as though I’d known his face my whole life, and there was no other way of being. We are us - and that’s how it is. 🤍 by @brayden_avery
