A global strategy, design, and production company that translates brand and cultural stories into transformative, human experiences.
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
19 years ago today, a new chapter began for one of the world’s most recognizable brand experiences.

On October 19, 2007, Heineken announced plans to transform and expand the Heineken Experience in Amsterdam, with BRC Imagination Arts brought on to help reimagine the visitor journey.

Set inside Heineken’s historic former brewery, the challenge was about transforming more than a century of heritage, brewing and brand storytelling into something visitors could experience for themselves.

The reimagined Heineken Experience brought together immersive storytelling, multimedia, interactive moments, the brewing process, tasting and entertainment to create a deeper connection between visitors and the brand.

On October 14, 1947, Chuck Yeager made aviation history when he became the first person to break the sound barrier, reaching Mach 1.06 in the Bell X-1.

79 years later, his achievement remains one of the great milestones in aviation, helping pave the way for advances in flight and, eventually, space exploration.

Today, we’re celebrating all our friends with aviation collections at The Museum of Flight in Seattle, The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation, Space Center Houston and San Diego Air and Space Museum. Thank you for keeping these stories alive and inspiring new generations of explorers.

It’s World Space Week!

This year’s theme, “Rocket Revolution,” celebrates the continuing evolution of space exploration and the technology helping us go further.

It gives us a chance to look back at a relationship BRC has been incredibly fortunate to be part of for decades at NASA @kennedyspacecenter .

From telling the story of the Apollo missions at the Apollo/Saturn V Center and celebrating the Space Shuttle era, to looking toward the future with Journey to Mars: Explorers Wanted, our role has always been about helping visitors connect with the people, ambition and possibility behind space exploration.

During World Space Week, we’re celebrating everyone continuing to explore what comes next.

184 years ago today, something happened in Plzeň that would change beer forever.

On October 5, 1842, the first batch of Pilsner Urquell was brewed, creating the world’s first golden pilsner and inspiring a style now enjoyed around the world.

It’s a story we were fortunate enough to help bring to life at @pilsnerurquell.experience Pilsner Urquell: The Original Beer Experience Prague.

BRC designed the immersive experience to take guests through the history, craft and culture behind the original pilsner, from how it changed brewing to the traditions that continue around it today.

More than 180 years later, that original story is still being told, shared and, of course, enjoyed. 🍻

44 years ago today, EPCOT Center opened its gates and a chapter of BRC’s story opened with it.

@bobrogerscreates had founded BRC in a garage one year prior, and their very first project was created for the soon-to-open EPCOT Center at Walt Disney World: a series of story-driven experiences for General Motors’ World of Motion, including experiences within its TransCenter post-show.

Before founding BRC, Bob also worked with Disney on Impressions de France, the five-screen cinematic experience that also debuted upon EPCOT’s opening. The original film continues to be shown at the France Pavilion today.

Pictured here in 1980 at Walt Disney Imagineering are Impressions de France co-producers and co-writers Bob Rogers (left) and Rick Harper (right), standing in front of the storyboard for the film. Rick also served as the film’s director, director of photography, and music researcher/editor.

What began alongside one of the most ambitious new destinations in themed entertainment became the starting point for more than four decades of BRC creating experiences around the world.

Happy anniversary, EPCOT and thank you for being part of our origin story.

At BRC, music is part of who we are.

Our team is filled with musicians, music lovers and people who understand the extraordinary power of a great song, a live performance or even a single note.

From classical music to blues, jazz, country, pop and rock & roll, that passion has found its way into so much of our work.

From the @opry to the @theryman , @rockhall , @abbeyroadstudios , The Chicago Blues Experience, K-Live and beyond we’ve had the opportunity to help tell stories inspired by music in many different forms.

And sometimes that love of music is much closer to home, as you can see from our own creative team making themselves comfortable in BRC’s Music Room meeting space.

With International Music Day coming up this Thursday, we’re celebrating the music that inspires us, connects us and continues to shape the experiences we create.

It’s no big secret that I am on an extended book tour promoting my own book, Floating Mountains.

But I’m going to take this moment to promote a different book. Deep Story: A Complete Guide for Creating Transformational Visitor Attractions…by Bob Rogers.

In case you don’t know Bob Rogers, he is one of the great masters of this industry and has written a very thorough and very well explained book for anyone who wants to work in any part of the theatrical immersive design world.

My own book focuses primarily on conceptualization and creative collaboration, and is supported by stories from across the scope of my career, not only as a designer, but as an explorer and artist.

Bob’s book, Deep Story, is an extremely thorough chronicle of his many successful projects, collected into a detailed step-by-step, guidebook for designers. Those people who have followed me on Instagram for a long time know that I believe that our work requires deep study and serious connoisseurship if it is to rise above the level of superficial entertainment. Bob’s book will give immensely valuable insights and valuable training to anyone who is seriously interested in immersive environmental storytelling.

My wife, Melody Malmberg, who has written and edited multiple books related to the theme park world has read it cover to cover and found it to be exceptionally well written, as did I.

Bob and I will be cross examining each other over our two books at the SATE Conference in New Orleans on October 13th.

Deep Story: A Complete Guide for Creating Transformational Visitor Attractions by Bob Rogers is available on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/dp/1963714156?lv=shuf&channelId=500&plpRedirect=mhFallback

But it’s always better to go to your local bookstore, order through them, and tell them to stock it. Congratulations Bob. @brcimaginationarts by @brcimaginationarts

What makes somewhere worth travelling for?

This upcoming Sunday is World Tourism Day, celebrating the places, stories and experiences that inspire people to explore.

At BRC, we’ve been fortunate to help create experiences around the world, from @johnniewalkerexperience and @pilsnerurquell.experience to @rockhall , @homeofguinness , @kennedyspacecenter , @thechuanwhisky and the @museumofliverpool.

Different destinations. Different stories. Different reasons to make the journey.

Great tourism experiences do more than give people somewhere to visit. They help people connect with a place and leave with something worth remembering.
