"Once upon a midnight dreary…" 🐦‍⬛📖

A bookish Halloween! Alongside homemade cookies, we gave away preloved books from my children's shelves and signed copies of my own books.

Beyond the chills and thrills, ghost stories, myths and folklore offer fascinating glimpses into different cultures, beliefs and traditions.

From traditional folktales and Gothic literature to contemporary novels and children's, these stories invite us to probe the mysterious, question the familiar and discover what our fears reveal about ourselves.

Happy trick-or-treating! 🎃 by @breadloavers

Oh… my… STARS!

The sea star cookies have turned into ZOMBIES!

Did Jawa cast the wrong spell? A toxic ingredient?! Can she reverse the magic before it's too late?

Or… is this just the bakery's latest cookie flavour? 👻
Rest in pieces! 😭 by @breadloavers

A cosy, starry afternoon, made special by the lovely children and families who came ❤️

I had the chance to connect with every child, make new friends and meet new readers. To top it all off, I received a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a flying kiss 🥹

Baked with love, while stocks last! 💕 by @breadloavers

My favourite cosy season is here 🍂 Soft, pillowy dough sinks beneath my palms.

The sweet, buttery scent of seagrass pie drifts from my stone oven.

Warm steam rises like shimmering bubbles through the sea.

A Little Mid-Autumn Gift 🐇🥮
Free colouring comic + mooncake recipe

I made this 2-page Jade Rabbit colouring comic for my nephews' cultural sharing at their preschool in the UK. Their classmates loved it! ❤️

My sis asked me for help because she found so many different versions of the Jade Rabbit legend online 🤔🐇, so I adapted a simple, child-friendly one for ages 4–6. Even my older nephew, who was 8 at the time, enjoyed it too! ❤️

I've edited it a little and I'd love to share it this Mid-Autumn Festival, with my mooncake recipe. 🥮

DM me and I'll send both to you! by @breadloavers

Drop by for a cosy afternoon of stories, cookies, crafts and a little Jawa inspired sparkle!

The book is recommended for ages 7—12, but younger kids and adults who love illustrated books are welcome too! by @breadloavers

It's been a long journey, with plenty of doubts, mistakes, failed attempts and moments when things didn't turn out the way I hoped. Creating something from scratch can be exhausting and sometimes a little painful, but also incredibly rewarding.

Still learning, still creating and still finding joy in the process. ❤️ by @breadloavers

Can Jawa and her sea star guardians save their home? 😢🩵
