A bit about me… my first Substack post is up now! This is so scary but going to try my best to be vulnerable and helpful all at once.

While I’m here to share tips, tricks, opinions, and survival guides for navigating theme parks with a toddler, I’m also writing from a place of nostalgia, breathing new life into old memories. You’ll be along for the ride as I figure things out in real time: parenting a small gremlin, navigating Disneyland chaos, and learning how Substack actually works.

Halloweentime is coming to and end! Only 9 more days until the season changes to Christmastime! Halloween is my favorite, I love the fall treats and the decor but could have done without the heatwave.

An ode to Disney’s Grand Floridian, ’90s edition ✨

Some of my favorite Disney memories didn’t happen inside the parks, but in the quiet moments back at the hotel when there was nowhere to be, but plenty to do. Decades later, a reminder that sometimes the hotel isn’t just where you sleep, it’s part of the magic itself.

While a lot has changed over the years at The Grand, so much is exactly the same. It really feels like going back home, a feeling that’s really hard to find.

More on this up on my Substack now!💕

I’m fully aware I created this monster. “She’s a thug in a cocktail dress”, and I’m here for it. It sure beats staying home all day! 🐭👸🏼✨

NEW POST UP on The Most Magical Hotels!
What IS the cost of extra pixie dust?! There is far too much to say about hotels at the Disney parks, this could be a three hour Ted talk, but I tried my best to give some advice! As a Disneyland local I never stay overnight at the hotels, but I do get asked a lot which is the best hotel?!

Let’s be honest, half of planning a trip for me revolves about what I’m eager to TASTE!

It’s so easy to see all of the viral Disney foods online, and it’s impossible to try everything. I made myself a list in my notes app organized by location and as we passed through, I tried to stop for whatever I could! Of course, I always HIGHLY recommend dining reservations in advance if there’s somewhere you really want to try.

For me being gluten-free at Disney can be heartbreaking, however, when there’s something I’m able to order GF I’m so exited, or if there’s something I’m DYING to try I will just have one sip!

☠️Starting here with the Plunderer’s punch at Beak & barrel in the Magic Kingdom, a classic rum punch. Premixed drinks kind of stink all over the parks. But the mug was worth taking home! I give that 5/10.

While there are so many things I wanted to eat at Epcot, I was able to run in quickly and grab a fresh bag of the most insane caramel popcorn. Ate this the rest of the trip, and on the flight home.

Next to the Indiana Jones stunt show, this was a one sipper for me - a vanilla-flavored Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee, topped with a rich layer of cookie butter cold foam, golden “treasure” sprinkles, and a small dark chocolate fedora hat. I did eat the whole chocolate hat, and I’m pretty sure it’s the exact same chocolate from the Mickey ice cream bars. Incredible.

Located at Rix sports bar downstairs at Coronado Springs , I had to convince the waitress that they in fact, had a gluten-free version of this! It was worth the haggle, absolutely ginormous, and warm. Much better than the GF standard waffles.

Also down at the Coronado Springs marketplace, this was an over the top one dipper. The cup was lined with Biscoff cream spread, topped with cold foam, and finished with salted caramel drizzle and Biscoff cookie crumble. It’s a lot. It’s also $10. It was absolutely delicious, but I would consider this more of a milkshake adventure than a morning coffee.

I never get to eat fried chicken! This crispy chicken sandwich from Summer House on the lake in Disney Springs was an exciting by @breakfastatropedrop

But iced, bc it’s still 100°🎃💀👻 #nightmarebeforecoffee

Despite Halloween being everywhere we look, it’s still over 100° here in Southern California! Here are my toddlers favorite spots to take a break from the heat.

PhilharMagic at DCA is a great 3-D movie experience encompassing all of the classic movie characters and songs. There is never a wait to get in and it shows every 12 minutes!

The Animation building at DCA! Not only can you learn to draw a character with Animation Academy, see an interactive show with Turtle Time with Crush, and of course you’re welcome to wait an hour to meet Anna and Elsa.. but just walking into this building alone can be a delight (no strollers tho). My little one likes to just sit on the floor and watch the video montage.

Hear me out. I have yet to try bringing my toddler into see President Lincoln, however, she does enjoy walking around the lobby of the space. There are pictures, maps, and animatronics from some rides to look at like a mini museum. A video play is about the history of Disneyland, which is nice, so sometimes you just need to walk in there to pop out of the sun and sit.

Of course Small World is an amazing 15 min inside a cool calm ride! Pirates ride is also a great option in terms of cool indoor ride but the line is soooo much hotter and longer.

The Disney Jr dance party! Now it has changed over for Halloween, but no matter what show is running here, it’s a great large air-conditioned auditorium where you can just sit on the floor (or chairs in the very back). Check show times in the app!

And last but not least, the Enchanted Tiki Room! Mobile order your Dole Whip ahead of time and bring it in for a cozy, cool dark sitting moment. My child loves this show and the music. by @breakfastatropedrop

Cheers to post-park day self care 🌺
