Brother…sorry for the delay on a wrap up on this year! After a 2-day drive (this is Scout) back to the Midwest, I was exhausted, sick, and had to immediately move and start a new job. My b🫪!

But, this isn’t about me, it’s about Break Free. This year we went harder than we ever had and ya’ll showed up. We were able to donate $1000 EACH to @mohammedsmission and @homies.helping.homies this year. The most we’ve ever been able to do in BFF history. None of that would’ve been possible without you all buying tickets, pre-ordering merch, buying buttons (making buttons), setting up, putting up flyers, vending, carpooling, playing, and just telling us how much this fest means to you.

This year our lil team is getting even smaller (♥️more on that later) and we’re figuring out what the future looks like, but I’m so happy this fest continues to do what it does no matter what because it fills a gap in something we’ve all felt at one time or another. Thank you to all the bands, vendors, to the @4333collective team, to @noisy_neighbors_print , to Philly 🦅 to every single person who shows up from afar, and to of course my friends @notdarbly @plantains_and_gin and @natebklynwolf . I love ya’ll tremendously and thank you for keeping me together so we can all be together.

Big tingz coming soon ya’ll. Keep an eye out for that and more. See you in 2027! ⛓️‍💥

Me and @kingjaeslim took a stroll over to @latchkeyrecords to look through their dope selection and pick out some albums that were influential to us coming up. Inspiration can come from damn..anywhere (even a Charlie's Angel's soundtrack?!)

Come to @breadboxphilly ✨️this✨️ Saturday 8/8 to watch the Afro-Punk documentary and learn more about what other influences led Black folks to the punk community. Including some insight from James Spooner when chatting about his new book, 'It Starts With Anger' (OFFICIALLY OUT TODAY!🥳)

And of course the legends in @mcrad267 capping off the night with amazing music.

Food provided by @yesyasminekitchen (sooo good 🤤)

Feel free to drop what some of your influences are in the comments, would love to see them! See ya on Saturday!
