This event was created to celebrate the life and legacy of Manchesters uncrowned boxing champion and civil rights activist Len Johnson. 1 Year of Breaking Barz 🤯 8 shows, 51 artists and 7 DJs have been on our stage 🔥 We are growing we are Learning 🏆 We aren’t afraid to fail in public the same way we will succeed in public it’s a community we will grow together. Friday night was electric despite the ending. In the heart of south Manchester we brought people together and showcased the local talent it’s immense 💥 We have to remember WHY we are doing this we are celebrating Black history and the life and legacy of Len Johnson 🥊 👑 a story that has been kept from us purposely. Len Johnson will become a household name when we are finished I can promise you that. Big up every single artist who has supported us this year ⭐️ we couldn’t do this without them special mention to @matildao94 who has completely elevated the show since joining the team a lot of the success of this show is down to Tilly !!! The energy is always unmatched 🏆❤️ shout out @maame.akuax who has co hosted the last 3 events as well ✨ love you both ! Host Announcement 📣 🎤 🔥 Karl John A.k.a Faro is a multi-faceted creative who began his journey as a MC/Rapper/Songwriter in the early 2000s. With a keen passion for hip-hop culture & story telling he went on to direct music videos & produce press shots/album covers for his counterparts in the scene frequently collaborating with Abnormal Sleepz & Children of Zeus (to name a few) which he states as some of his best work to date. His MC roots kept him in tune with events and saw him hosting festival stages from Freeze Festival, Creamfields to Parklife and after an 8 year hiatus he’s now one of the most sort after hosts in the North which has earned him a credible reputation as a “vibes-man” up and down the country.
