Chris Sullens stepped down as CEO of ABA software company CentralReach on Sept. 4 after eight years. One of the first public clues was a conference agenda.

CR Unite lists him as “Former CEO and Strategic Advisor,” alongside Clark J Convery as “COO and Interim CEO.”

Sullens announced the move on LinkedIn, 16 months after Roper Technologies, Inc. acquired CentralReach for roughly $1.85 billion. No timetable for naming a permanent successor has been publicly announced.

By Sullens’s count, the platform now handles more than 250,000 clinical sessions a day.

Read how he helped build a major autism care software company, and what’s known about the leadership transition.

Louisiana Medicaid ABA providers face fingerprinting, a treatment-hours review, and new authorization deadlines as Healthy Blue exits.

Federal fingerprinting requirements also cover people with at least 5% direct or indirect ownership under high-risk screening.

For ABA providers, the critical detail: receiving plans must honor existing authorizations for up to 60 days after Jan. 1, 2027, or until they expire, whichever comes first. A 180-day approval could outlast that protection.

Some BCBAs stay in terrible roles because they fear leaving families without support.

Chris Hampson, co-founder of Take a Seat People, hears this from clinicians. He says ABA providers are overlooking a bigger issue: BCBA retention.

The complaints keep coming: high billable expectations, weak RBT support, too much admin and limited mentorship.

“I do not think burnout is simply about resilience,” he says. “Often, it is a sign that the role itself has been designed badly.”

Read what he thinks ABA employers need to change to keep good clinicians—and why he’s floated starting an agency himself.

New York’s fee-for-service Medicaid reimbursement for technician-delivered ABA drops to $9.63 per 15-minute unit on October 1, 2026, half the rate paid before October 2025.

It’s the third cut in 12 months. And providers have seen that number before.

The Council of Autism Service Providers warned lawmakers in February 2025 that $9.63 “would become the lowest rate in the country.”

Autism Learning Partners stopped accepting new Medicaid patients across New York on April 17, citing the cuts. At the time, 118 children were waiting.

Its New York executive director, Rachael Schneider, called the effects on access and care quality “devastating.”

How did the original 50% cut return after the 2025 budget scaled it back?

An ABA Centers job posting still advertised a full-tuition ABA master’s scholarship on September 14, six days after Temple University announced that Christopher Barnett’s $55 million pledge was ending by mutual agreement.

What does that mean for employees’ tuition?

The ABA Centers of America scholarship program began in fall 2023, before the pledge. Barnett told The Philadelphia Inquirer in October 2025 that the company funds Temple master’s degrees for 40 to 90 employees annually.

Temple’s announcement did not address those scholarships. Public materials reviewed through September 14 left two questions unanswered: Will current recipients’ tuition support continue? Will new scholarship cohorts begin?

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska will lower its weekly applied behavior analysis (ABA) limit from 40 to 25 hours, effective November 15.

The revised autism coverage policy also changes telehealth and supervision rules. One shift BCBAs may notice: “adaptive functioning” becomes “academic functioning,” with examples like toilet training and dressing replaced by sight words and math skills.

A key question remains unanswered: How will existing authorizations above 25 hours be handled?
