Happy National Hip Hop Day from Breaks and Beginnings. Today we celebrate a legend who inspired us and established the culture- then shifted it. Robert “Big Bob” Smith is our big brother. He threw the best parties in the Bay Area and was the first to build a club focused on Hip Hop.

Our very own @posred repping The @106kmel All Star Djs on @mtv in 1999. This episode of MTV’s Hip Hop Week featured a DJ battle with DJ Infamous and DJ Rare Form, showcasing the creativity, precision, and performance that defined music long before social media and streaming.

Hip Hop Week celebrated fashion, rap, and culture. Moments like this helped bring DJ battles into living rooms across the world. @posred took the trophy back to the Bay!

This year on August 11th, we are celebrating the 53rd year of hip hop- commemorating important voices in music and rap history. We’re looking forward to sharing more memories and stories on our YouTube and social platforms.
