Ālaya, in the morning.

Slow coffees, long breakfasts, the kind of corner you’d settle into for a catchup.

Before the lights come on.

Shillong, this is yours.

Built slowly, in amber and quiet. Built to outlast the season.
Some evenings we already remember. Most of them haven’t happened yet.

Ālaya is only just beginning.

If you haven’t been in, we’ll be here.

The light, after dark.

Lamps that pool warm on wood. A flame against the dusk.
A glass in hand, the slow turn from afternoon into evening — when the rooftop finds its second register.

Coffee by day. Cocktails by evening.

Three days to opening.

The room, in detail.

Cane, bamboo, stone, wood, fabric, light. Every surface chosen, sourced, and placed slowly. Materials that age well, that hold warmth, that belong here.

Four days to opening.

Before the hands, the detailing.

Every corner, every joint, every finish — drawn, redrawn, walked back to, talked through again. A thousand small calls.

No compromises. The kind of attention that doesn’t show up in a photograph, but lives in every surface you’ll touch.
