September mentions. September was a hard month on so many levels! Read a few books that drained me and made me fall out of love with my TBR …. But these two saved me! There’s the usual comfort theme going on here, I’m aware. But life feels hard at the mo, so I’m following my reading heart! Also, loved the love hypothesis and the last sunrise on prime! by @breathe.andread
Is there anything better? Had half hour to spare this evening so I popped into Waterstones and had a wee browse. Also spent my voucher that’s been sat in my purse for over 12 months! by @breathe.andread
August Wrap! Catching up and enjoying a lazy Sunday. Had a good reading in month in August. No work helps! These are all the physical books I enjoyed. #holidayreads #augustreads by @breathe.andread
Great and Precious Things completely stole my heart! I already adore this author, but WOW… this book was everything. Emotional, beautifully written and completely addictive. I honestly couldn’t put it down. Cam and Willow? ❤️ I absolutely loved them. Their story pulled me in from the very beginning, and I was so invested in their journey. The emotions, the tension, the heartbreak and all the little moments were perfect. This book had me smiling and crying - a great look on the sunbed! I loved reading how Cam and Willow’s story unfolded, and intertwined with the past. I finished this book with that ‘what am I supposed to read now?’ feeling. Another absolute 5⭐️ read from an author I will forever read anything and everything from. If you love emotional romance, unforgettable characters and books that completely consume you, read it. A big thank you to @instabooktours and @books.afterhours for being part of the emotional support group needed! #GreatAndPreciousThings #Bookstagram #BookReview #BookLover #RomanceBooks FiveStarRead TBR BookRecommendations by @breathe.andread
Holiday reading … just hits a bit different doesn’t it? These are the books me and my crew read whilst on our hols this year. Mr B actually read a book! Never found him more attractive 😜 And my little Miss D read her book, then kidnapped my kindle and read 2 more! The big one read nothing! How can I make a 13 year old read?? I lloved all my books and were perfect holiday reads x by @breathe.andread
My July Wrap! Yes you read that correctly. July. I’m so behind! These are the physical books I read last month. My favourite was The Artist - I had saved it for the start of my summer and I am so glad I did. The perfect read for those first few days where I needed comfort and to just breathe. Yesteryear was an interesting one, which was my bookclub read. I didn’t love it, but lots of people did. Maybe one to try again another time. Have you read any of these? by @breathe.andread
I was kindly gifted The Summer Book by @tandemcollectiveuk to celebrate the release of the film adaptation, and it feels like the perfect book to have in your hands this summer. Set on a small island in the Gulf of Finland, this is a gentle collection of moments shared between a grandmother and her young granddaughter. Each chapter feels like its own little reflection on life; childhood, ageing, nature, grief, love and everything in between. There isn’t really an overarching plot to keep you turning the pages. Instead, it’s about the quiet observations, conversations and fleeting moments that make up a life. It’s the kind of book you can read a few pages of, put down, and pick up again whenever you’re in the mood. I think this is one to read slowly, letting each little chapter sit with you for a while. by @breathe.andread
When Book Club becomes so much more ❤️ Appreciate this group of book nerds so much. Obviously I adore our official book club evenings, but nights like this are something else. Spending time with the old crew as well getting to know other, newer and less regular members is lovely. Massive thanks to Amie and Katie for organising it all every month, navigating it around your work and beautiful families. And a special thanks to our Jen too, for being the social organiser! 🥰 by @breathe.andread
So - I’ve not done a review in AGES! This was something we discussed at book club last week, and honestly, this last year I’ve just found keeping this account ‘alive’ so overwhelming. My 9-5 and mom life has just taken over. I’m ok with that though. It’s how it should be! However, this book needs a little square post and a little nod of appreciation and recognition. I love a romance. And I’ve got lost in the easy, comfort spicy ones of late. I saved this for my holidays where I could take my time, enjoy it and just take it in. I’m so glad I did. It’s so beautifully written, with parts that made me just sigh …. Close the book for a moment. Then open it up again. It’s one of those. A slow burn and has made me fall in love with a classic love story all over again. A solid 5 stars and maybe the book that I will remember the most this year! I don’t think I’ll ever stop thinking about Joe and Ettie. by @breathe.andread
My June pile is done. These are the books I’m going to be reading this month. I’ve got a busy month ahead with birthday celebrations and a oh yeah, a date with Harry Styles. Work is busy too so I’ve opted for mainly easy romance reads, and staying in my comfort zone. Starting The Midnight Train next. I picked this signed copy up after seeing @mattzhaig in Birmingham a few weeks ago. Yesterday is the new @booksandbeyondbookclub pick which I’m really excited about! Thoughts please x #junereads #romancereader #briaru #tbr #bookstagram by @breathe.andread
May reads Still loving my romance, and still loving my ice hockey. Also really enjoyed Dandelion is Dead and The Winners this month though. The Winners is probably my favourite read of the month. Tell me what your favourite May read was. #mayreads #readingblog #bookstagram by @breathe.andread
Hay Festival 26 - the Bookstagram dump My fourth visit to Hay and possibly my favourite to date. Highlights include the amazing, inspirational and poetic talk with @ocean_vuong and my visit to @gayonwye bookshop. It was a hot one and so in between the book shops I just spent chunks of time sat in the shade (be it a festival flag, shade from the castle walls or just inside the tent) reading. Hay festival is such a special, happy place for me! ❤️ by @breathe.andread
