Gio “Gotti” Cruz is a six-foot-eight jewelry store owner, devoted father, and a man surviving on routine after losing the woman he loved in a tragic Valentine’s Day stampede. Peace is all he has left, and he protects it at all costs.
Rosee is turning thirty-five and choosing herself while carrying the grief of losing her mother to cancer on Valentine’s Day years earlier. Focused on her business and her boundaries, love is the last thing on her mind.
When their worlds collide, the connection is slow, heavy, and impossible to ignore.
Bound by loss, timing, and unspoken pain, Gotti and Rosee must decide if healing together is worth the risk.

This B.O.N out of Newark is a raw Valentine’s Day hood romance about grief, fatherhood, jealousy, and the kind of love that shows up when you least expect it. #authorlife #urbanfiction #fypage #blackauthors #bookstagram by @bree_the_writer

Caller of confessions dropping October 21… The emergency room hallway at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center smelled faintly of industrial bleach and cheap coffee, a sterile scent that burned the back of Nyra’s throat. Outside, the muffled wail of an ambulance siren echoed off Lyons Avenue. Inside, the sound was entirely drowned out by her mother.
Her mother sat rigid in a hard plastic chair just a few feet away, her body shaking as loud, agonizing screams tore from her throat. She was completely unravelling, her shrieks bouncing off the sterile walls as nurses tried in vain to comfort her.
