Having gotten to art direct this film is absolutely a “pinch me” moment. We won an Oscar!!

Moments like this make this confusing, exhausting industry so rewarding. Beautiful films like “The Singers” is why we start and why we stay. Stories, and art, and independent artists will always be worth fighting for.

Thank you to our incredible director @samdavis for being the type of director and person a crew will go to battle for.
Thank you our producers @davidbreschel @jack_piatt_ for making it all possible.

And my designer @ottermaterpoeia who is not only a great designer, but a kind and caring soul who takes care of everyone who works for her.

And our whole all girl art department team who worked so hard! We did ittttt! @aikersss @goldlinq @tenmonteverde @ceceish @vidhishaaaaaa @sarakaylx @heatherwildside @emmagracereynolds @jazminxsuarez

Feeling lucky, hopeful, and excited :) thanks @thesingersfilm by @breeingemi

Timelapse of the watercolor painting I did for the key art for @papermakesrobot (Ashley Lauren’s) “Small Block” script for @tablereadpodcastla

All episodes out now ! Go listen to this beautiful script!! It’s raw and real and queer and truly a breath of fresh air.

Was so lucky to collaborate on this image with Ashley. She came to me looking for an image created by hand by a human. I was thrilled to hear another artist fighting for handmade art not generated fully by Ai. She did this despite having limited time and limited budget because if you really want to fight for artists rights you can. All it takes is some guts to go against the grain nowadays. It’s possible - it’s not easy but it’s worth it. Let’s keep handmade art alive.

There’s no words sometimes. It’s overwhelming. For us all.

Echoes of a Place Unknown

Visuals @breeingemi
Starring @vampirenosleep

This track is about the feeling of wandering through familiar yet mysterious places, which allows us to discover new facets of what we thought we already knew.

These downtempo grooves are part of a new collection of sounds that I’m excited to share throughout the year 🔥🔥

In my next life I’d like to be one of two things
Maybe a tree
Or in turn a bird
Either be completely free
Or
Be rooted and never leave
But for now I’m lucky for the adventures in between

All shot in Colorado
All shot on film~ as always by @breeingemi

I’ll always be taking photos
Even if it means nothing
What does it mean to mean anyways?

These are random shots I like over the past six months or more. I like them and I hope you do too

If only time could be put in a pocket; saved for later, or just to remember.

Some photos I’ve never posted from back east

There is just something about the other coast

The sun will always rise there first, won’t it?

Cutter 4 Sandwich Man:

As this man was making our sandwich I was reaching over the glass to take a photo in the opposite direction, a candid of a different sandwich maker. Presumably the man at cutter 5. I don’t know why- I think I thought the lighting was better or the angle or something.

So as I was setting up this other photo, the cutter 4 sandwich man playful but loudly goes “hey! I’m makin your sandwich take a photo of me instead!” and points to himself. So I laugh and frame up on him. He holds the sandwich up making sure I get his beautifully crafted creation in the photo.

The photo of cutter 5 man was not nearly as good. Maybe because there was less of a story or connection in it. Less so capturing a moment in favor of lighting. Cutter 4 isn’t a perfect photo- but I quite like it for this anyways

All taken in NYC on film 35mm & 120mm
