Bruneau Dunes are the tallest single-structured sand dune in North America with a peak rising 470 ft above the surrounding desert floor. They are a geological anomaly and considered structurally unique because they are reversing dunes. The surrounding winds keep it in place. It was too hot to sand board but pretty cool to see. Even on a cloudy day, I believe this is the best spot in Death Valley. At 6,433 feet, Aguereberry Point overlooks Badwater Basin from the Panamint Mountains. This Georgia girl absolutely loved the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes in Death Valley National Park. I learned that your eyes deceive you out here because the dunes look closer than they really are 😅. We had fun exploring and climbing the dunes. Man, what a view! 5,575 feet above Badwater Basin is Dante’s View in Death Valley National Park. With panoramic views of the salt flats, lake Manly and the Panamint mountains; I can see why this is a favorite spot for many. It’s so beautiful at sunset.
