After 8 long years… I took my locs out. 🥹🤎

And as much as I loved my loc journey, I realized how much I missed simply enjoying the way my hair grows out of my head. My texture. My curls and coils. The versatility. Even the SHRINKAGE 😂 — something I appreciate now more than I ever did before.

I’ve also learned that I really don’t care for long hair on myself. Give me the volume, the texture, the fluffy twist-outs and let my hair do what it naturally does!

So we’re officially back in my twist-out phase. 🙌🏾 Right now, my focus is strengthening my natural hair, keeping it healthy, and working toward a fuller, thicker look. After eight years of locs, it feels good getting reacquainted with my natural texture again. 🌱

And yes… I’m actually excited about the shrinkage this time around. 😂

Last year’s fall fragrance favorites were all about warm, cozy, sweet scents that made me want to keep reaching for them. 🍂🤎 From a pistachio done like no other, to a “high-class cookie,” soft suede vanilla, and the vanilla I layered with EVERYTHING—these stayed in rotation.

And of course, Brown Girl Jane Chalet was the one—my signature fall scent. 🍁

Looking back at last year’s favorites has me wondering which ones will make the cut again this fall. 👀

Blind buying any fragrance is wild…but you gotta be out of your mind to blind buy a NICHE fragrance. 😭 And last year, that was me with Nishane Ani X. 😂

Since then, one of the biggest things I’ve learned while building my perfume collection is the importance of sampling fragrances before buying a full bottle.

Because fragrance notes can sound PERFECT. The perfume reviews can convince you it’s going to be your new signature scent. Everyone in the fragrance community can swear it’s a masterpiece…and then you put it on YOUR skin and realize it’s just not for you. 😩

Now I sample first. I want to experience the opening, dry down, longevity, projection, and most importantly—how the fragrance actually makes me feel before committing to a full bottle.

My niche fragrance collection may still be expensive…but at least we’re making slightly better financial decisions over here. 😂

Today was a good day, so naturally I had to smell like one. 🤎

NOYZ Loose Ends has quickly become one of those fragrances I want to snuggle into. I love the smoky vanilla and warm amber—it reminds me of sipping a beautifully spiced tea by the fireplace, wrapped in something soft while the weather starts to change outside. 🍂☕️

But layering it with Francesca Bianchi Sex and the Sea was completely unexpected.

I was BLOWN AWAY by the sexiness of this combination. Sex and the Sea brought this warm, salty, musky, skin-like sensuality that transformed the cozy sweetness of Loose Ends into something deeper and more seductive.

Together, Loose Ends + Sex and the Sea smell like cozy season with the lights turned down low. Warm skin, smoky vanilla, amber, spice and just enough saltiness to keep it from becoming too sweet.

Cozy…but make it sexy. And I will absolutely be wearing this fragrance layering combination again. 🤎🌊

Fragrance hot take 🔥

I’ve noticed that when male fragrance creators recommend the “best perfumes for women,” the list often seems based on what THEY want to smell on a woman…not necessarily what women actually love wearing. 👀

And honestly, that made me curious.

Forget the “top 10 perfumes men love,” the viral lists and the supposed compliment getters. I want to hear from the women actually wearing the fragrance.

What perfume consistently gets you compliments from men? Your husband, boyfriend, date, coworker—or even a complete stranger who had to stop and ask, “What are you wearing?” 👀

When you grow up watching Dad put on his fragrance every morning, of course you have to pick your own for the first day of preschool. 🥹🤎

He went straight to Daddy’s collection and chose Original Soul (Soul Cafe) by Savoir Faire for his first-day scent.

It’s the little things they pick up from watching us. 🥹 And apparently smelling good is one of them. 😂

I requested one of the most popular—and probably one of the most duped—fragrances on the market for my birthday: Delina Exclusif by Parfums de Marly 🌹

And the funny thing is…I’ve tried Delina Exclusif SO many times in store and it never really did anything for me. Especially with that price tag. 😭

But this summer I finally got a sample, brought it home, and actually wore it instead of judging it from a quick spray at the fragrance counter.

Oh. I get it now.

It’s the powdery softness. The velvety texture. That rich, creamy rose. It feels feminine, graceful and almost ridiculously pretty—and the longevity and projection absolutely show up.

Apparently Delina Exclusif didn’t need another test strip. She needed a full wear. 😂🌹

So yes…this was my early birthday request, and I fear I’ve officially joined the Delina Exclusif fan club.
