There are some goodbyes you know are coming, but they still don’t feel real when they finally happen. Closing the book on my senior softball season means so much more than just playing my last game—it means I’ve reached the end of my entire high school athletic journey. It’s crazy to think that something that has been part of my life for so long is now just a collection of memories I’ll always hold onto. This sport has challenged me, pushed me beyond my limits, and taught me lessons that go far beyond the field. It gave me friendships I’ll never forget, coaches who believed in me, and countless moments that I’ll always look back on with a smile. There were tough losses that made us stronger, unforgettable wins that brought us closer, and so many little moments in between that ended up meaning the most. I never realized how much I’d miss putting on my uniform, stepping onto the field with my teammates, until I had to do it for the last time. While it’s heartbreaking to say goodbye, I’m so thankful for every opportunity this sport gave me and for everyone who was part of the journey. This chapter may be over, but the memories, friendships, and lessons will stay with me forever. Thank you, ottumwa softball, for giving me a place to grow, compete, and become the person I am today. I’ll always carry a piece of this game with me, no matter where life takes me next- #31 out❤️ by @bregriffiths1
