I wrote “Only One You And Me” last year as a Mother’s Day gift for my wife Karen. It is very intentionally a tribute to The Byrds, a band we both love, and to all the great bands who have followed in their footsteps. @thebyrdsofficial
The lyrics are also inspired by the humour, kindness and simplicity of language at the heart of one of my favourite American writers Kurt Vonnegut.

Thanks to Josh O’Keefe @joshokeefeofficial for showing me around so many magical parts of Nashville and for the lend of his @gibsonguitar J45 and shillelagh for the video shoot. And for introducing me to the wonderful Anthony Simpkins @gemsonvhs who shot the video at and around his studio space in The 100 Taylor Arts Collective in East Nashville.

Winter Song with The Guinness Choir 🩵
It was such a privilege to sing two of my songs with the truly wonderful @guinnesschoir as part of their fantastic 75th anniversary concert at @stpatrickscathedraldublin on May 7th during the @culturedatewithdublin8 festival. It was also an honour to meet and sing for President Catherine Connolly @presidentirl on the night and to hear the world premier of Paula Meehan’s incredible “City of our Dreaming” which was composed by @seandcomposer and performed beautifully by @leannemezzo with the choir.
I have worked in Dublin 8 at @vicar_st for 28 years and I spent much of my childhood around there because my mother was from 3A The Iveagh Buildings just across St Patrick’s park. My song Winter Song is a love letter to my wife Karen but also a tribute to family, to my mother and to the Iveagh Buildings @theiveaghtrust I am also delighted to have received a gift of the beautiful pin created by @thelibertiesweavers to mark the occasion ⭐️
Big thanks to everyone especially @grace_michelle_mcevoy John Healy, Ciaran Kelly, Kate Mercier and all the gorgeous people in The Guinness Choir and at St Patrick’s Cathedral🙏 🩵 🙏 by @bren_berry
