It was hot as f**k today and I really didn’t feel like running.

I had 10.5 miles planned, plus 7 - 30 second sprints after, and somewhere in the beginning I was already negotiating with myself.

But I did the full 10.5 miles and 7 sprints.

And afterward I felt fucking incredible.

It’s funny how often the thing you don’t want to do is standing directly between you and the way you actually want to feel.

Spent my birthday last weekend with family in one of my favorite places on the planet. We did a morning at the BMW Performance Center, followed by a blinding headache that derailed my evening 😂. The next day, it was smooth sailing. The rest of the weekend was full of good food, light hiking, running, prayer, nature, a freakish foot anomaly, bald eagles(video at the end), a couple mezcal mules, cold plunges, and saunas, saunas, and more saunas. Every year keeps getting better and better for me and I am profoundly grateful for everything and everyone in my life. 🙏 taken in Big Bear Lake, California by @brendansuraci

This is a video of my hike up Mt. San Gorgonio. A bucket-list hike years in the making that I'm grateful I was finally able to accomplish.

This represented not only completing a challenging backpacking trip, but also the culmination of years of hard work recovering from a debilitating injury that left me barely able to walk at times.

To go from lying on the floor in pain so great that I couldn't even get up to use the bathroom, to completing a hike like this, is nothing short of miraculous.

I'm incredibly grateful to The Creator for all the gifts He has bestowed upon me in this life—even the gift of transformative darkness, which has ultimately given me a greater capacity to give and receive His divine light.

11,503 ft.
Approximately 21–22 miles.
South Fork Trail → San Bernardino Peak Divide Trail → San Gorgonio Summit → Sky High Trail → Dry Lake/Lodgepole Camp → Mine Shaft Saddle → Dry Lake → South Fork Trail.

One mountain, years in the making. ⛰️

A quick video about how I invoked the Pizza Principle today ✌️ taken in Los Angeles, California by @brendansuraci

The Pizza Principle is one of my favorite personal psychological protocols. It’s part of a broader internal worldview I call Contrast Therapy.

The idea is to use both positive and negative experiences as information to help align myself with my highest and truest self.

In this example, instead of fighting the urge to do something that feels indulgent in the moment, I surrender to it—assuming, of course, that it isn’t putting my life or well-being at risk—and then pay attention to how I actually feel afterward.

If I feel negative, I can use that experience as a reference the next time I’m faced with the same choice and see if making a different decision feels better. If I feel genuinely positive, I can try making the same choice again and see what happens.

Rather than creating an internal battle with something as silly as eating a slice of pizza, I use the contrast between how I feel before and after a decision as information.

For me, the goal isn’t to constantly tell myself what I *should* or *shouldn’t* do. It’s to become more aware of what actually serves me—and ultimately learn to trust that awareness. taken in Los Angeles, California by @brendansuraci

This was my first time hiking Mt. Baldy (aka Mt. San Antonio) as preparation for taking on Mt. San Gorgonio. An amazing hike that should be on any hiker’s list.

Trekking poles—which I did *not* bring—are highly recommended if you plan on taking Ski Hut Trail down 😂.

Taking Devil’s Backbone up also offered me the opportunity to surrender into what feels like the only true refuge we have in this world: the knowing that a mysterious Divine force is behind every action we take in this physical existence. When faced with the possibility of life or death—both real and imagined—we can only surrender to the will of our Creator for us in that moment.

🌵Phoenix Appreciation Post 🌵 Truly one of the most beautiful places in the universe, and one of the few on Earth where you can feel like you are on a different planet. Imagine a forest but replace the pine trees with giant saguaro cacti some reaching over 60 ft. and you have Tonto National Forest. The people, the food, the fun... I can go on and on about my love for this city.

It is truly a magical place where I always find another piece of my soul that I've lost. On the ride back to my sister's house one day I found myself thinking a lot of statements that were centered around "I" like "I am..." "I am not...." Or even "Who am I....?". I realized this is all my ego and that "I am" no-thing. I haven't quite found the words yet to express this knowingness but essentially the "I am" I've been referring to and obsessing over all my life never existed. "We are" all souls, bodies, energies, and objects that exist as One within the creator. That day before all of this I pulled the Death card from my tarot deck. We could say that was hinting at the mini ego death which was to come in those moments. It was a gentle step towards oneness with the creator and a shift of focus from pain of separation to pleasure.

We are all a work in progress but the end result will most certainly be a masterpiece for all of us, because the Creator doesn't know how to create anything else. We are perfect as the One that we all are 🫡

Sweden was an absolute fever dream. The people, the food, the history, the landscape, and everything in between, was amazing and beautiful. I've never felt so torn at the end of a trip- my soul longing for more - my heart, mind, and body demanding we go back to the US 😂.

My key takeaway from this trip came when we were touring the History Museum. I kept thinking why am I in here looking at things that are all dead when there is so much life outside to experience? I then had a wave of gratitude and realized every one of us today are the strongest members of our bloodlines, even those that we consider weak. We’re the children of countless creatures who fought through the trials of evolution, and because of them we get to live this fleeting, beautiful existence.

Sweden, I hope this wasn't the first and last time that I experienced you in my life, but if it was I cherished every last second of it. by @brendansuraci

Ended the year with a bang. Second visit to Ireland and once again it leaves me only wanting more. This trip I got to see much more of the countryside, as well as deepening my grasp on the city of Dublin. We went to Cork, Galway, and a few places in between. I met amazing people, ate plenty of amazing food, drank more Guinness than I care to account for, and even kissed the Blarney Stone.

My favorite part of the trip though, was making lasting memories with people I love while we're still here to make them. 🙏 taken in Ireland by @brendansuraci

South Africa, a dream of mine for 15 years. A decade and a half ago, I deferred my trip due to safety concerns amidst riots. Ironically, history repeated itself with new turmoil just before my recent visit. The universe has a way of testing our determination, and this time, I forged ahead.

In February, my sister Bridgid's sudden, unexpected passing shook my world. It brought into sharp focus the value of time. Money can't buy more of it; time is the one resource that steadily depletes without replenishment. None of us knows our remaining time. It could be a heartbeat or a century, but none of us can predict. This revelation has been a gift, urging me to be more present in the now and to maximize the precious time that remains.

Bridgid adored elephants, her home adorned with their images. Seeing them in the wild became a personal journey, a way to connect with her memory. Deep down, I knew that if my life were to end and I hadn't experienced South Africa, it would be a colossal regret. Knowing that time waits for no one, I decided now was the time to go.

South Africa surpassed all my dreams. It was breathtaking, filled with vibrant energy, and left me lost for words at every turn. The experience is still sinking in, but one thing is certain: it has permanently reshaped the landscape of my dreams.

Bridgid, I hope your spirit joined me on this incredible journey to witness the wonders of this extraordinary place. May we all find inner peace and grasp the profound truth that life is for the living. Cherish every moment, for it's the most precious gift we have. #SouthAfrica #CapeTown taken in Cape Town, South Africa by @brendansuraci

Ireland: Part 1. @efv_369 and I went to Dublin for our birthdays, which are only two days apart. Ireland was incredible in every way and I can't wait to return, after I make a few stops elsewhere around the globe. by @brendansuraci
