We Butt Heads but The Paper Protects Us; Play.

Ink and Graphite on Watercolor Paper
18”x24”
2026.

Due to forced film glued over our lenses, we have had our relations with each other remotely controlled. Due to what it seems as a lack of control over our individual lives we attempt to control others. A reflection. Our souls yearn for each other yet get rammed with the guard we feel the need to put up. I believe it’s all traceable. They laugh at our frustration while we perform on stages of grief. Remove the cover, get from under their lights, and dive into the crowd. by @brendinavents

We fleek da masks 2 make it; Flee.
Masked by freaks so we can’t see.
Masked so long our face we can’t trace.
Masks floating down the Red Sea.

When I see my kin, I see bright, Black, light…cased in white paper molds. Gleams from wet eyes seeping thru the gaps. Withholding hope that if they cry, sweat, and bleed, the mask will weaken. So they shed and shed and shed…filling the white pool. Ultimately creating a new pale layer of skin over the truth. Worn, as they live their lives as something else.

The Act of Black.
