Philly chiller. Big wave enjoyer (triple entendre)
reviews, playlists and collabs:

POSTS STORIES REELS

🚨 fresh collab 🚨

I wrote a short feature on @strayfossa and we co-curated a Night Drive Playlist together

Go give the playlist a save! It gets dark at like 4 PM now so you’re gonna have a lot of night drives coming up and your only listening options will be this or the new Meghan Trainor Christmas song

Live now on indie-wave.com (link in bio and story)

Stray Fossa has been a personal favorite since before the indiewave project started so it was cool to work with them on this and learn about their new album and creative process

Go read and listen 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

cool thing alert 🚨 🚨

Me and @jaguar__sun collabed on a playlist!

We went halves on the tracklist and I dropped a few words on the website

He makes great morning music so we leaned into that vibe; chill indie tracks with a little pep. Ideal for easing into the day

Morning Coffee Mix is live now on indie-wave.com (links in bio and stories)

Queue it up next time you’re sipping a coffee on the porch or driving to work half asleep

I wrote some shit for the first time in a while (link to blog in bio and story). You should check it out if you:

1. Enjoy indie alt/pop/rock/funk/folk music
2. Want to discover indie alt/pop/rock/funk/folk music
3. Need something to do for 7 mins 23 secs
4. Enjoy comically minimalist web design
5. Feel bad for me that I had the flu all weekend by @brennanoneil_

Some light Sunday reading 🗞️ 🗞️

I interviewed @love.is.struggle from Austin, TX before the release of their debut single “Reach,” and wrote a feature that is live now on indie-wave.com (link in bio and story)

This was a rare opportunity to chat with a band before they even released music and it turns out their backstory is insane

Short version: Dude cracks his rib and can’t work. He gets a gig playing guitar to greet guests in the parking lot of Austin’s famous @justinesbrasserie .. a drummer hears him playing and approaches him to jam. They form a band but first guy doesn’t know till months later second guy is a Grammy winner. They round out the band with a film composer and a talented R&B singer

Now go to the site and read the long version. Theres always a story to be told 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

You could call me a lot of things, but from now, on make sure Minister is one of them 🕴️

No licenses acquired lol but I had the honor of officiating, emceeing, and giving a speech at my sisters wedding in our mom’s backyard. It was fun as hell. One of those weekends that serves as a reminder of how much life rocks sometimes

All the professional pics haven’t come back yet so most of these are shot by young children with disposable cameras

Congrats @corrieocool & @stecknation by @brennanoneil_

Big thanks to @wxpnfm for having me out to cover the 2026 XPonential Music Festival

This was a cool moment for me because Xpn is a pillar of the indie music community, especially in Philly. I also grew up watching some of my favorite bands rip under the XPN banner with my family

My festival recap is live now on indie-wave.com including a brief nostalgia tour, an exclusive with the mother of the kid who got to announce Portugal. The Man, and some thoughts on my favorite performers of the weekend:

@portugaltheman
@ratboysband
@tyler.ballgame
@littlefeat_official
@sierradawnhull
@stpaulandthebrokenbones
@couch.theband
@mackenziemusic

An old school photographer already shit on me for being in the press pit with my iPhone so feel free to let me know how bad the photos are

There’s no way this got him a date but this is an all-time friend move 😂

If anyone else wants to casually promo indiewave on dating apps or LinkedIn or DoorDash I will be accepting that type of support

🗞️ I interviewed the great @jw__francis and wrote a feature that is live now on indie-wave.com (link in bio + story)

JW is one of the most respected and connected artists in the indie rock/folk/bedroom pop scene so it was great to sit down with him and hear his insane backstory, learn about his new album and nerd out about indie music.

We also shared in the plight of ordering your bagel “extra toasted” and getting it lightly toasted but I didn’t have space to include that in the piece

Go give it a read 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

Hanging in there. City dwelling. Ali’s been off socials but her love for photobooths hasn’t gone anywhere. They even email you clean jpegs now by @brennanoneil_

Bumped into Saquon the other week and he asked when the next indiewave new music round-up was dropping

He’s in luck because “top indie songs of q1 2026” is live now on indie-wave.com (link in bio and story)

Really glad my sister convinced me to put on our dads XXXXL weed shirt 5 mins before Saquon walked into the bar

I interviewed @_jacojaco_ and wrote a feature that is live now on indie-wave.com (link in bio and story)

We discussed founding/leaving Sports, moving from Oklahoma to Philly, solo momentum, new music, chance encounters with Vinyl Williams, doing art for Chelsea Days and more

Go check it out now 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

Some things we discussed that didn’t make the cut:

- the weather
- hacking Spotify streams by adding random Diplo songs to his albums
- poor cyber security
- lack of beef with Kodak Black (gremlin vs gremlin) by @brennanoneil_
