In this amazing, busy, crazy summer I get very few days at home. Woke up this morning to Christmas in July! Christmas decorations, candles, cookies and music! I just stood in the den and took it all in for a few seconds before Christina said, “Merry Christmas in July, your only home for a day so let’s make it a good one!” by @brentacrowe

Day 2 of SLU 201 brought a full day of conversations, insights, and moments to remember! 🎉🙌🏼

Today our students heard from:
- Author & Speaker, David Nasser
- Dr. Brent Crowe, SLU President
- Jason Kimak with @samaritanspurse
- Dr. Jay Strack, Founder and President Emeritas of SLU
- Speaker Mike Johnson
- Former Army Ranger, Dr. Jeff Struecker
- Dr. Anthony Turner with @charlestonsouthern

Tonight, they are touring the monuments by moonlight and immersing themselves in the city. Already amazed by this group of young leaders and grateful for everyone who has helped invest in them. What a great second day! taken in Washington, D.C. by @brentacrowe

To conclude this session, our SLU President, Dr. Brent Crowe, prayed over Speaker Mike Johnson as our students committed to spending the next 21 days praying for him and his family.

It was an honor to welcome Speaker of the House Mike Johnson to SLU 201 this afternoon.

As he challenged our students to lead with courage and conviction, he shared several powerful insights on standing firm in your values and the responsibility we have to steward the freedoms we’ve been given.

Some key insights from Speaker Mike Johnson:
• “Freedom has to be fought for and protected to be passed on to the next generation.”
• “God doesn’t choose the qualified, He qualifies the called.”
• “Duty is ours, results are God’s.”
