Space leg work in progress!

Are Aliens carnivores???

My dude Jonathan has some cool space pieces he’s collected from various artists and had given me the task of filling the back of his leg with a ufo beaming up a cow. That was it. He gave me the idea and let me run with it. The placement was so cool (for me, not him). The ufo was placed on the knee ditch 😖 but the beam ran down the calf and just laid out so beautifully. I decided to add an old news paper on fire about a ufo spotting to cap the bottom. It just added to the mystery of it and looked so cool!

He loved it and has since decided to let me finish the leg. Adding new pieces in the open spaces he has available to complete his leg to a full sleeve.

The process has been so awesome, he just comes in with a basic guideline of what he’d like for the day and lets me have fun with it. Next up is the knee. Eeek! Stay tuned… taken in Art Junkies by @brentolson_aj

First and foremost I want to thank my wonderful clients Kim and her husband Eddie for having the trust and giving me the opportunity to take a shot at helping Miss Kim with her Mastectomy tattoo. I have never done this before, and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous. (Of course I didn’t tell Kim that, ya boy stayed calm, cool and collected until after the first side was done, then I thanked the gods above and kept on keepin on. 😂)

To be honest, I don’t think I was nervous about the tattoo part. I could tell with her story she was just really bummed about her appearance. It stole a bit of her spirit. All I wanted at the end of the day was to help bring her confidence back and make her happy.

Miss Kim had a mastectomy procedure, nipple reconstruction surgery and the sureon also did the 3D tattoo. She went through a lot. I have tattooed Kim and her husband previously. She talked with her husband and really felt confident that I would be able to help her out of this 10 year battle of frustration. We had a consultation and I was as honest, letting her know I had never done it before nor did I know how the scar tissue or skin would be to tattoo. Nevertheless she wanted me to tackle it and had full faith.

At the end of it she was absolutely thrilled, as well as her husband. And I could wipe the sweat off my brow and exhale.😅

Kim, Eddie, thank you so very much for opening a new door in my tattooing career.

As for any others who may find themselves in this situation, or need help with their mastectomy tattoo or even surgeons or others who know a friend or family member that would like to direct clients in my direction, I’d be more than happy to help. This has been a very fulfilling task that I can honestly say has made me feel good that I can do it and do it well.

Any questions please send me a message!

My super rad client Erin has made her way from Orange County to continue on a leg sleeve we are putting together.

Little ode to her hometown of Orange County, this leg sleeve will have some trinkets of her love of vintage imagery, cars, places, and hotties. This has been so much fun to work on and miss Erin always has the craziest stories!!!

Until next time!

FEBRUARY AND MARCH appointments are available!!!

Not all pieces need to be covered, some just need a little love.

Michelle came in with an older tattoo, nothing bad by any means, just a piece that has seen its fair share of sun and she wanted it to be revisited and added to.

She was set with a couple multicolored hibiscus flowers she had in mind and wanted the cool little tree frog not to be covered but brought back to life…say no more fam! I got you.

This is typically a difficult area to get tattooed but she sat like a rock even laughing that it tickled some times… I questioned her sanity but she was just tough as nails.

I hope this piece gets to see many more summers… under a tree…in the shade… with sunscreen…

Got a piece that needs some attention? Hit me up, let’s tackle it. taken in Art Junkies by @brentolson_aj

Just an ol’ coloring book, taken to the max. I’m very surprised this coloring book paper handled all the layers of marker, color pencil, and paint without breaking apart sending me into an unnecessary fit of rage and hurling it across the room.

Blends were not the greatest on this paper but it worked out with the overall grunge aesthetic I guess.

At the end of the day, this was fun to create and did it just to see how far I could take a simple coloring book page and make it cool.

I used @prismacolor pencils and markers, @poscaoficial markers, some acrylic paint and a varnish spray.

Overkill on a coloring page? Probably, but my art brain was happy and feeling it. Is your art brain in need of stimulation? Steal your kids coloring book, and make art. It’s fun… by @brentolson_aj
