When I come up with rhythmic ideas, I try to keep them simple at first before fleshing them out. This one hit me late last night, so I write down "7-7-7-5" to remember this morning. It all starts with a roughly imagined, roughly played concept 🥁 by @bressigandon

I'll never understand the algorithm...first video is 20 seconds long, playing my heart out with a drum solo in the studio, and it can't crack 200 views over several days. The second video is almost two minutes of me playing keyboard (VERY simply) and singing, and it passes 1500 views in its first hour. WHAT DO THE PEOPLE WANT by @bressigandon

Day 2 of practice after 2 years of no practice was a lot better, I actually made it through a verse and chorus 🎹

I refer to my talent level on drums as "professional chud" because, as you can see, it's mostly single strokes and straightforward phrasing from me (good if you like simple, dry if you don't) at 152 bpm, a good sweet spot for my mid-uptempo pocket. I'm working to level up the technicality as a way of strengthening my creativity at the same time 🥁

I hate to use this term, but when I let my beard grow out it looks...pube-y. It was time for a tune-up 🪒
