The 15th Annual Ghana v. Nigeria soccer match and picnic in Chicago.

Ghana won the game for the first time :: 3 to 1.

The game is organized once a year by Ghanaian and Nigerian Americans to celebrate the sport and their heritage.

Thank you so much Zaga @beegestballersoatclub for the invite. 🙏🏽

Until next year … taken in Chicago, Illinois by @brettnadal

Dads can be some of our first and favorite storytellers … and since we didn’t know our dads when they were kids, stories about themselves growing up are some of the best.

My dad and his family immigrated to Chicago from Cuba when he was a kid — and they moved in right across the street from Wrigley Field, the American landmark and home of the Chicago @cubs … and the stories are all nuts.

Just a few short cuts of some of his childhood memories of growing up in Wrigleyville he shared this weekend …

Happy Father’s Day, Papa.

This time of year always makes me think about horse racing. Where I grew up, it was an oddly big part of the spring and summer seasons.

As an artist, it hits a little different when I get to shoot something so close to home. by @brettnadal

I’ve never met a pro ski jumper, but I had a few brief moments with some during a competition this week and it turns out that they’re all good vibes with a little touch of crazy. by @brettnadal

While I was on production in Toronto, @holypromoli invited me to spend an afternoon with she and the incredibly talented @ryanmoto813.

I’ve been around motorcycles my whole life, but I’ve never seen this type of behavior on such a big bike, so close up.

I’m still mortified and mystified.

Thank you so much @holypromoli & @ryanmoto813! Until next time — by @brettnadal

@shogunsoccer_open is a grassroots Chicago soccer club, established in 1988 by Japanese-Americans and expats in the area. This club and their style of play reps the incredibly vibrant Japanese community in Northwest Chicago. by @brettnadal

Part of an ongoing project documenting different grassroots football / soccer clubs in the Chicago area, highlighting multicultural teams and inclusive clubs from mutual cultural origins.

Looking foward to the World Cup Fußball/ fútbol / socaball / soccer coming back to the United States for the first time since 1994. It’s also been incredible to watch the game evolve in North America as a celebrated force for the good of our communities.

I’m truly excited by the growth of soccer in North America and observing how players and teams share their cultures with one another through the game.
