today marks my 31st birthday but it also marks one year since we moved out to this 1970s ranch house on a hill with our little family, fluffy doggo and trusty old cat. in that same year, we started our cattle herd and learned so much about the land under our feet. while we do have plans to remodel the house, this past year of settling in and slowing down a bit has been irreplaceable and instrumental.

I feel so much gratitude and renewed energy coming into this next year! thankful for my health and the opportunity to keep waking up and chasing my dreams. here’s to thirty-fun! 🌅 by @brettrhicks

happy 40th anniversary to these two love birds — my parents and role models. their steadfast loyalty and respect for one another has been the standard in my mind for my own relationship and I know they would’ve been so proud to reach this milestone!

4605 is a first calf heifer, meaning she’s never birthed or raised a baby before. That bright yellow poop on my arm tells us that the baby received colostrum, a super nutrient packed form of breastmilk that is VITAL to a calf’s survival. This means momma is doing an amazing job keeping him fed. She will be a great mother and that makes us proud. by @brettrhicks
